Warframe allows players to capture or conserve species. Many of the fauna in Warframe suffer from habitat destruction due to the actions of the Infested, Corpus, and Grineer. Gamers can use their frames to conserve species in the Plains of Eidolon, Orb Vallis, as well as Cambion Drift.

Players that successfully catch and turn in a species will be rewarded standing points, as well as a tag for the particular species. Tags can be turned in for floofs, which are collectible items in Warframe.  This guide will cover the basics of conservation, and how to get a perfect capture every time.

Preparing To Conserve

Conservation in Warframe is unlike the hunting mechanics in any other RPG. Players will not see the animal until it has been lured out into the open. Before players head out on the hunt, they will need a few essential items. Gamers will at least need an Echo Lure. If they are hunting in either the Plains of Eidolon or Cambion Drift, they will need a tranquilizer rifle. The rifle can be purchased from either the Business or Son after getting the necessary standing with Entrati or Solaris United. Gamers will then want to key bind their lure and rifle to make hunting easier.

Tacking And Capturing Fauna

Once players are prepared to hunt, they can take a look at the map and head to one of the pawprint indicators to find wild fauna. Players will need to look for two things, tracks and feces. After spotting the feces, the game will allow players to track the animal's footsteps. The footsteps can range from a few meters to halfway across Venus. However far they lead, the footprints will always end at a call point. This point will appear as a floating gold indicator on the screen.

Using The Echo Lure

Next, players will need to use the correct Echo Lure, which depends on the animal a player is tracking. Once the lure is activated, players will receive a call sign for the fauna. Gamers will need to trace the direction of the call sign using their mouse or controller while aiming down sight. The call sign will be small, so gamers need to have a keen eye during this step. Tracing it correctly will entice the fauna to the call location. Players will need to wait a minute or so before the fauna will appear.

Stealth And Tranq Rifle

Ivara Prowl Warframe

Once the animal has been successfully called, players will want to activate a stealth ability to avoid being seen. Ivara is the obvious frame to use while hunting. She has sleep tactical arrows that can be used as tranquilizers and her Prowl ability allows her to be invisible for a short period. It will be a much tougher task to get a perfect capture without some form of camouflage. Gamers that are not using a character with a cloaking ability will need to find sufficient cover several meters from where the animal was called.

Next, players need to activate prowl and wait. The fauna will almost always approach slowly, and gamers will be able to spot them from at least 20 meters. Once the animal reaches the calling point, it will likely exhibit a weakness, allowing gamers to get the perfect shot. For example, Bolarola have armored skin similar to an armadillo. Gamers will need to wait until the animal stands on its hind legs and exposes its belly. That is when players need to fire their rifle or arrows. Ivara's sleep arrows will stun almost any animal with one shot, so players using her should ditch the Tranq Rifle.

How To Get A Perfect Capture Every Time

Warfram Bolarola Perfect Capture

All players have to do to achieve a perfect capture is stun and retrieve the fauna without being seen by the animal. The best piece of advice for gamers is to use Ivara. Her stealth and sleep arrows will make getting the perfect captures exponentially easier. Fauna will not be able to see her, and she can stun seemingly any animal with one arrow. Players will need to carefully follow all of the steps above and be patient. Missing a shot, or shooting a part of the animal that will not be effected by the arrow will ruin a perfect capture.

Gamers need to understand which type of animal they are hunting and its vulnerabilities are. Players that are using a frame other than Ivara will need to find immaculate hiding locations and have an accurate shot. The other frames will need to be further away, making a perfect shot slightly more difficult. During the weekly challenges, players need to keep in mind that different variants of a species and different sexes will count as separate perfect captures. As long as gamers are not capturing the same species and sex, the animal will count toward challenge progression.
