Warframe is filled with planets to explore, factions to battle with, and resources to farm. Players can quickly become overwhelmed, especially with the cycle of farming and building that the game works under. With the number of resources available for players to obtain, it's more efficient to only farm certain locations that are good for a respective resource. Warframe and similar mobile games make farming a core, enjoyable part of the game.

Neurodes are one such resource that players will find themselves needing to build Frames, weapons, and other parts of the game. While they are a relatively rare resource regardless of a player's level, there are some locations that are better than others for farming this Warframe resource across Earth, Deimos, Lua, and Eris.

Updated September 9, 2022, by Brad R. Edwards:Despite the news of the upcoming Soulframe game, players can rest assured that Warframe continues to enjoy plentiful updates. While lots of things change in Warframe over time, some locations for resources, like Neurodes, are tried-and-tested and remain largely unmoved despite these updates. Neurodes remain an important resource that are useful for many builds that players can expect to make.

10 Tikal – Earth

The Tikal mission on Earth on Warframe.

A Dark Sector Excavation mission with level 6-16 enemies, Tikal uses the Grineer Forest tileset and is suitable for most players unless they are at a very early stage of the game.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 0+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 0-5

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 1-2

Being an Excavation mission, players will be able to roam around and look for Neuroptic Masses as well as kill enemies for extra Neurode farming. The enemies won't cause players too much trouble so they can feel free to bring a loadout including unranked weapons and the best melee weapon types.

9 Mariana – Earth

The Mariana mission on Earth on Warframe.

Regardless of the player's level, Mariana on the very first planet, Earth, is a great location for farming Neurodes. Being one of the first few missions in the game, Mariana has a very small tile size meaning players can run through and check for Neurodes in just a couple of minutes.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 0+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 0-5

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 1-2

The villains are only level 1-3 and with Mariana being a simple Extermination mission, players can blitz through the objective while farming Neurodes without any difficulty nor relative time-wasting. The hallmark of the best live-service games is always how replayable they are, and Warframe enhances its replayability by making farming feel more fun than a chore.

8 Mantle - Earth

A Void Relic mission on Earth on Warframe

As with most missions on Earth, enemies are only level 1-3. As a Capture mission, players can complete the mission segment of the tileset very quickly, leaving them free to spend as long as they need searching for Neurodes across the tile set.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 0+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 0-5+

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 1-2

Earth is often a great spot for Neurodes even if players reach the late game, as missions on this planet have small tile sets that can make searching for Neurodes even quicker. Players who use mods such as Loot Radar will find it particularly easy as they don't even have to put much effort into finding the resource themselves.

7 Tycho – Lua

The Neurode resource on Warframe.

A Survival mission on Lua with level 25-30 enemies, Tycho can be a great place for more late-game players to farm Neurodes while also getting a decent amount of XP.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 10+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 10+

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 2-4

Tycho uses the Orokin Moon tileset, and it is advised that players have at least one decent weapon and a late-rank Warframe as part of their loadout. Players may want to take the best shotguns into the mission for up-close-and-personal combat and quick XP.

6 Mutalist Alad V Infested – Eris

The Mutalist Alad V mission on Eris on Warframe.

The Mutalist Alad V Infested mission is an Assassination mission with enemies level 30-35 using the Infested Ship tile set. Players must ensure that they are using some best Warframes available in the game, and a full party to make farming Neurodes via this mission efficient enough to be viable over other suitable locations.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 15+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 15+

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 1-3

Alad V is not the most difficult villain and neither is his Mutalist counterpart, but he can still provide some difficulty to early and mid-game players who haven't yet gotten themselves decent mod setups.

5 Magnacidium – Deimos

The Magnacidium mission on Deimos on Warframe.

The Assassination mission on Deimos is supposed to give players a guaranteed 1-2 Neurodes every single run. This makes it one of the best choices for those who are able to quickly kill Lephantis, which is not too difficult once players have gotten a fair bit into the game.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 10+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 20+

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 1-2

Enemies are between levels 12-35, so it is advised that players have at least a decently-ranked Frame and a powerful weapon to make killing the boss easy. Going into the mission on a Public squad is likely to make the fight much easier. Players that have unlocked Deimos should make sure to visit the Cambion Drift.

4 Terrorem – Deimos

The Terrorem mission on Deimos on Warframe.

Terrorem is a Survival mission running on the Orokin Derelict tileset. Deimos' enemies are between levels 12-35, so while players shouldn't go into this mission with a completely weak loadout, they can have one or two weapons that are part of their loadout simply to level up.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 10+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 5-10+

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 2-4

Deimos is one of the best missions for collecting Neurodes, and it doesn't take long for it to unlock, becoming available shortly after players gain access to Mars. As such, players can expect to find themselves using Deimos missions such as Terrorem for a while until they get further through the Star Chart.

3 Plato – Lua

astilla in warframe

Plato is one of the best Warframe missions for farming Neurodes, but players will need to be fairly well-leveled while rocking a good loadout and preferably a full squad to succeed in getting through the mission. While Lua may cause some difficulty, farming Neurodes via the Sentinel enemies is a guaranteed way of obtaining the resource, which is not something that can often be said for this component.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 10+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 5-10+

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 2-4

As enemies are between levels 25-40, players should make sure they have a powerful weapon such as one of Warframe's best sniper rifles to ensure success on the mission. Lua can also be good for farming Ferrite, Rubedo, and Detonite Ampule.

2 Zabala - Eris

A Team in Warframe

Zabala is the best Warframe instance-based mission for farming Neurodes, but it will be a while until players have unlocked this planet. Eris is one of the final planets to be unlocked on the Star Chart, making it an endgame location.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 15+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 15-20+

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 1-2

As an endgame location, players can expect to find plentiful resources on planets such as Eris. Eris can also be good for farming Nano Spores, Plastids, and Mutagen Samples.

1 Plains Of Eidolon - Earth

Warframe Plains of Eidolon Battle

In addition to dozens of instance-based missions on Warframe, it also has open-world areas that blend MMO features with the looter shooter. Plains of Eidolon is the first one that players can visit, and can be found on Earth after unlocking the Cetus node. Warframe inadvertently became one of the best free open-world games with the adoption of its several open-world modes. Having different modes available as the game breaks up the repetition that players may feel when grinding for resources by replaying the same mission over and over again.

Warframe Level Recommendations: 20+

Weapon Level Recommendations: 20-30

Estimated Base Drop Rate: 1+ (Depends on the duration of stay)

Players can expect to find themselves in the Plains of Eidolon quite often as they engage in mid and end-game missions for greater rewards. Because of this, most players tend to stick to the Plains of Eidolon when farming Neurodes since there's so much other stuff they can do while gaining Neurodes passively whenever coming across the various Neuroptic Masses dotted around.

Warframe is available on Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox One Series S | X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
