Warframe has many weapon types to suit all play styles. While some weapon types such as swords have tons of different choices for players to go for, other more obscure weapon types don't have many options. Claws and war fans are examples of mistreated weapons, with there only being four claw weapons and three war fans in the game.

Claws make players feel like they're Wolverine chopping up all the enemies in a mission, while war fans have that Samurai feel to them that complements a game revolving around speedy ninja battles. Nevertheless, players who like using these types of weapons will want to ensure they use the best claws and war fans and don't waste too much time on options with low stats.

8 Venka

The Venka claw weapon on Warframe

The Venka is likely to be the first claw weapon that players come across and it is also the worst. While it deals Slash damage and has a good all-rounder normal attack, its low critical chance, low damage, and attack speed stop it from being a truly great weapon. Players should avoid the Warframe beginner mistake of investing too much into this weapon, it'll unfortunately never match up to the other claws and war fans available in the game.

The Venka requires Mastery Rank 4 and can be acquired by researching it in the Tenno Lab in the Dojo, which requires having joined a clan. Players should use the Venka for the Mastery and then ditch them for a better claw or war fan weapon.

7 Ripkas

The Ripkas claw weapon on Warframe

The Ripkas are unique in being a little different; they are chainsaw claws rather than simply claws. It deals primarily Slash damage and has above average disposition, but the disadvantages of it are its below-average damage, low attack speed, and low attack range. They are a unique Warframe weapon type all of their own.

Mastery Rank 5 is required to use this weapon with players able to obtain it by purchasing it from the market, making it very accessible to all users.

6 Gunsen

The Gunsen claw weapon on Warframe

The Gunsen is a Tenno Warfan that has impressive speed and status chance. It has very high Slash damage making it useful against Infested mobs.

The Gunsen cannot be used until a player is Mastery Rank 8 and they can acquire it by researching it in the Tenno Lab in the Dojo. To access the Dojo, players need to have joined a clan.

5 Arum Spinosa

The Arum Spinosa warfan weapon in Warframe

An Infested Warfan, this weapon deals Toxin damage on a Heavy Attack, leading to some good damage that can be scaled if players mod the weapon correctly. It has very high damage, high attack speed, and very high status chance, but is let down by its very low crit chance and attack range. While it doesn't match up to Warframe's Tenet weapons, it is very impressive.

The Arum Spinosa will require players to be Mastery Rank 11 before they can use it, and they can acquire it from Tier 2 Isolation Vault Bounties, which are level 40-50 missions. Players will need to make sure they have a good load out to take these missions on.

4 Keratinos

The Keratinos claw weapon on Warframe

The Keratinos are an impressive claw weapon that benefits from high damage, above-average status chance, and above-average critical multiplier, with drawbacks being its low critical chance, low attack speed, and very low attack range.

Players will need to be Mastery Rank 9 and can acquire the Keratinos by reaching Rank 0 - Neutral with the Entrati syndicate. The blueprint for the Keratinos can be purchased from Father for 3000 Standing across the blueprint and components.

3 Vericres

Warframe Angels Of Zariman

A Tenno war fan, the Vericres is the newest weapon out of claws and war fans to be added to Warframe. The advantage of the Vericres is its above-average critical chance, but it is let down by lower than average damage and low attack range, it requires Warframe's must-use mods to make it viable.

The Vericres can be used after the player reaches Mastery Rank 8 and can be acquired by watching PlayWarframe's Twitch stream of TennoCon 2022.

2 Quassus

The Quassus warfan weapon in Warframe

One thing you may not know about Xaku is that the Quassus is their signature weapon, giving the weapon a significant place in the overall Warframe lore. The advantages of this weapon are its high crit chance and above-average damage, with drawbacks being the very low attack speed and attack range.

The Quassus requires players to be Mastery Rank 8 and be acquired from Tier 5 Cambion Drift bounties. Tier 5 bounties are typically very difficult, so players will need to make sure they have a strong load out to deal with the enemies on these missions.

1 Venka Prime

The Venka Prime claw weapon in Warframe

The Primed variant of the disappointing Venka, the Venka Prime is a big improvement and out of all war fans and claws in Warframe, this weapon is the best of the lot. It has an above-average attack speed, very high critical chance, and high critical multiplier. On the other hand, it has below-average damage, low attack range, and very low disposition meaning players will need to mod it well to make up for its drawbacks. However, this weapon is useful even on Warframe's Steel Path.

The Venka Prime can be used by players after they have reached Mastery Rank 14 and can be acquired by completing Void Relics missions and unlocking relics that have their parts as a potential drop.

Warframe was released in 2013 and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox One Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch.
