Usually, players can expect a game's bosses to be among the toughest challenges that they'll face. However, this isn't always the case, as evidenced by Wanted: Dead and its Club Deaf Panther stage. Before players can reach the boss of this area, they'll first need to take out two heavies at the same time, which will likely prove to be incredibly difficult for the majority of Wanted: Dead players.
It can seem impossible at times, though this does mean that after finally defeating the heavies, beating the stage 3 boss Kolchak will probably feel like a walk in the park by comparison. That's not to say that this fight is going to be an easy one though, as, like with most enemies and bosses in Wanted: Dead, Kolchak still has the potential to mess players up pretty quickly if they should happen to let their guard down.
How to Beat Kolchak in Wanted: Dead (Phase 1)
As with previous boss fights in Wanted: Dead, the duel with Kolchak takes place over two phases. The first sees her relying heavily on her high-tech armor, using it to turn invisible and sneak up on the player. The good news is that although she can hide her appearance, she can't mask the ripples that her footprints cause in the puddles beneath her. She'll also become visible moments before attacking, so players can just wait until she does so and then dodge roll out of the way.
There'll be opportunities to get in a few quick melee attacks in the moments after dodging, making it easy to whittle down her health to the halfway point. Players can speed up the process by hitting her with a few incendiary grenades if they have already unlocked the skill for Stone and can also fire the sidearm blindly while they wait for Kolchak to become visible, as the game will sometimes automatically lock onto her even if Stone can't actually see her.
How to Beat Kolchak in Wanted: Dead (Phase 2)
Once Kolchak's health bar hits the halfway mark, there'll be a short cutscene signaling the beginning of Phase 2. In this phase, players will need to rely mainly on handgun counters, which can be pulled off by firing a handgun shot whenever the red glint appears briefly on the screen. This will leave Kolchak open to a melee flurry, and, after a few of these, players will get a chance to perform one of Wanted: Dead's many finishers.
As with the August boss fight earlier though, this doesn't quite finish Kolchak off and actually leads to her becoming a lot more dangerous. Again, players will need to rely on handgun counters here and should aim to keep their distance, as failing a counter opportunity while too close to Kolchak will lead to Stone taking a rifle round to the face from point-blank range. Assuming players can keep their distance and nail their counters though, finishing Kolchak off shouldn't be too difficult for most players.
