With slightly weaker enemies and a less enclosed environment for players to explore, the Kowloon Park stage in Wanted: Dead is arguably quite a bit easier than the one which preceded it. Players should have very little trouble navigating to the stage's final boss August, who serves as the leader of the Synths and the only real challenge that players will face in stage 2 of Wanted: Dead.
Much like the Spider Tank boss fight, the duel with August features two distinct phases. Neither is particularly difficult, though his attack patterns do change between phases, meaning that players may need to mix up their playstyle just a little. For starters, they'll need to rely pretty much exclusively on their katana during Phase 1, which may prove challenging for some.
How to Beat August in Wanted: Dead (Phase 1)
The first phase of the August boss fight begins with an army of construction workers charging at the player. When they first appear, they'll all be fairly clumped together, so a well-placed grenade can cause some serious damage. Other than that, players should just pick them off using melee combos until August finally appears. Even when he does though, they should continue targeting the construction workers until August is the last man standing.
August attacks using a mixture of LMG bursts and melee combos, with the latter only being used when players get in close. With this in mind, players should look to make use of the dash attack and, if they have it, the slide upward strike, which is one of the many upgrades that players can purchase in Wanted: Dead. Running in close and then switching into a brief melee combo before quickly dodge rolling away can make very quick work of August, with his first phase ending once he gets down to 50% HP.
Players will fight August without the rest of the Zombie Squad to support them, meaning that they won't be able to rely on Doc to revive them if they fall in battle. With this in mind, they should keep an eye on their health bar and aim to keep it at 75% or higher where possible.
How to Beat August in Wanted: Dead (Phase 2)
After a short cutscene in which August throws his light machine gun to the ground, the second phase of the boss fight will begin. In this one, August relies exclusively on melee combos, so, to begin with, players should try and keep their distance and unload a few clips of AR ammo into him to soften him up. Once they run out of ammo, they can revert back to using slide strikes, backing off before August has a chance to respond. It may be cheap, but it's incredibly effective.
At around 25% HP, players will get a chance to perform a finisher on Autumn, though this won't quite be enough to bring the fight to an end. A few more katana strikes should do the trick though, after which, the second stage of Wanted: Dead will end and players will unlock the Kowloon Park Trophy / Achievement. A few cutscenes later, they'll be back at Police HQ, ready to engage with a few more of Wanted: Dead's various mini-games.
