The Wano Country arc finally reached its culmination after several years. The arc featured some of the biggest names in One Piece, which made it the most exciting arc since the time-skip. As things stand, it won't be an exaggeration to say that it has surpassed all the previous arcs in One Piece.

The best thing about the Wano Country arc is that the focus wasn't entirely on the fights. The arc highlighted other themes and issues which included - politics, liberation, and revenge. All these themes added to the quality of the arc, and finally, the characters elevated it to the next level. With the alliance triumphing against all odds, there were a handful of characters who managed to stand out more than the others, and they were rightfully rewarded for their efforts.

The Worst Generation

Luffy Law and Kid on Onigashima

Wano acted as a magnet that attracted numerous members of the Worst generation. Luffy, Kid, Law, Zoro, Killer, Hawkins, X-Drake, and, Apoo were all present in Wano at the same time. With so many big names present, it was difficult for everyone to stand out, but some of them did manage to grab the headlines. Luffy, Law, Kid, Zoro, and Killer were the biggest standouts.

Luffy managed to take down Kaido in what was a grueling fight. The two went at it for a very long time, before Luffy managed to knock out the Yonko once and for all. By defeating Kaido, Luffy was able to keep his promise to Momonosuke and everyone else. Law and Kid were engaged in a fight with Big Mom, and they were struggling quite a lot to beat her. Big Mom was way above their league, but with their devil fruit awakenings, they managed to take her down. With Big Mom out of the picture, the alliance took one huge step to winning the war. Furthermore, this marked the biggest achievement of Law and Kid. By taking down the two of the biggest threats, Luffy, Law, and Kid undoubtedly played the most significant role. Their feats earned them an individual bounty of 3 billion beris, and Luffy was also named one of the Yonko.

Zoro and Killer were also very impressive in their respective fights. Zoro fought against King, who was the right-hand man of Kaido. Zoro's fight with King was very intense, and the Straw Hat had to put his life at risk to take down the All-Star. Killer went up against Hawkins, who was not an easy opponent by any means. Hawkins' devil fruit made it very difficult for Killer to take him down, but Killer's persistence paid off, and eventually, he managed to get the better of the Headliner.

Clutch Sanji

Sanji Raid Suit

Sanji is known for having his clutch moments and in the Wano Country arc, he once again proved his worth to the crew. At the beginning of the arc, Sanji saved his crewmates from Page One. Then in the raid that took place on Onigashima, Sanji saved Momonosuke from being executed, which was very important to the alliance's morale because if Momonosuke was killed, they would lose the future Shogun of Wano.

Sanji protected Zoro and wrapped him with bandages to boost his recovery. He also fought against King and Queen at the same time to allow Chopper to treat Zoro. Sanji also saved Chopper from Queen's attacks and deflected all of Perospero's arrows. Furthermore, Sanji protected O-Tama from Queen and when Zoro finally recovered, Sanji fought Queen in a 1v1 and defeated him without any significant problems.

Yamato & Momonosuke

One Piece Yamato Kaido's son

Yamato is one of the new characters to be introduced in the arc. From their very first appearance, Yamato made it extremely clear that they are a big admirer of Oden, and that they want to explore the world just like the former daimyo of Kuri. When Yamato met Luffy, the former immediately expressed their desire to help Luffy to defeat Kaido. In the arc, Yamato defeated Ulti, and then bought Luffy valuable time by fighting against Kaido alone. Yamato also protected Momonosuke and prevented Kazenbo from blowing up Onigashima.

Coming into the arc, Momonosuke was considered to be a crybaby and a good-for-nothing, but as the arc progressed they developed a lot as a character. They showed immense willpower by leading the samurai against Kaido's forces. Momonosuke was also willing to sacrifice his own life if that meant ensuring Kaido's defeat. After asking Shinobu to use her powers on him, Momonosuke was able to become a giant dragon. When Kaido was defeated by Luffy, Momonosuke prevented Onigashima from falling on the Flower Capital by creating flame clouds.

Marco, Chopper & The Scabbards

One Piece Tony Tony Chopper Straw Hats Bounty

It is fair to say that a lot of One Piece fans weren't expecting Marco to make an appearance in Wano, however, he ended up surprising everyone when he actually turned up with Nekomamushi. Marco had a major role to play in the alliance's victory over Kaido and the Beasts Pirates. He fought against Big Mom for a while and after that Marco clashed against King and Queen. He was able to hold off both the All-Stars on his own, which allowed the rest of the alliance to focus their efforts elsewhere. Furthermore, Marco used his devil fruit power to stop the Ice Oni virus from killing numerous alliance members.

Chopper stepped up to the plate when the alliance members needed him the most. Queen's Ice Oni virus was causing mayhem, so the responsibility to find the cure fell on Chopper's shoulders, and he delivered. He successfully created the cure, which rendered Queen's virus useless. The Scabbards also played a crucial role in the arc. Nekomamushi and Inuarashi defeated Perospero and Jack respectively. Kin'emon landed the finishing blow on Kanjuro, and Denjiro killed Orochi and saved Hiyori from being killed.
