With the popularity of the MCU shows on Disney Plus, Marvel Studios is leaning into the storytelling within these series as having a huge impact on the overall MCU. But it seems as though Marvel's first show, WandaVision, may feed into more upcoming projects than fans had realized.

Deadline picked up the story following Marvel boss Kevin Feige's appearance at the virtual Paley Dialogue session. When asked about the storyline for WandaVision being continued in other projects, Feige confirmed that it would evolve in "different capacities." He also reiterated that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would be the first upcoming project where the show's story will continue but said that it would also go beyond that.

WandaVision was the first MCU project of Phase 4 after considerable delays of various other shows and movies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It dealt with the aftermath of "the blip" while also exploring Wanda's own grief over losing Vision, leading her to create a false reality mirroring classic sitcoms. In the show's finale, Wanda dissolved the reality she created and said goodbye to Vision again. However, it was revealed in the post-credit scene that she seems to be searching the multiverse for the sons she created in the sitcom world.

It was confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen would be returning as Wanda Maximoff in the Doctor Strange sequel, which will explore the multiverse storyline that will be continued in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was also confirmed that Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), who was introduced in WandaVision, would return in The Marvels.

Despite already knowing how WandaVision would tie directly into Doctor Strange 2, Feige's comments are very interesting. He makes a point of confirming the story will continue outside of Doctor Strange and there are endless possibilities about what this could mean. The Marvels does seem like an obvious example, but there is also the possibility that White Vision will play some role in upcoming MCU projects. Loki also seems to be veering into the multiverse, which looks to be a big running storyline in Phase 4. There is also the lingering possibility that Feige could be teasing the second season of WandaVision.

While it is quite clear now that Marvel is following through on its promise to make these shows an interconnected part of the universe, it will be interesting to see if they really do hold as much weight as the storylines in the movie. Will WandaVision characters simply continue to appear in other heroes' stories or have the shows really changed the MCU going forward?
