With the popularity of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch skyrocketing after the success of WandaVision, she's since become a perfect character to cosplay. Most people who choose to emulate the character are taking on her look from the show, but it's important to remember her other iconic looks too.

Instagram user @sarahisloading has done exactly that with the amazing looks posted to her page. And, she was well ahead of the curve by posting these great cosplay photos all the way back in October 2020 before the record-breaking show even premiered. Because WandaVision is so iconic, and so are the Wanda Maximoff looks in the series, it's easy to forget where it all began: Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is the first film in which Wanda is introduced, along with her brother Pietro/Quicksilver as well as Vision. Though it's often seen as one of the lower-tier Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, it introduced a few iconic characters to the franchise. After the craziness of Avengers: Infinity Warand Avengers: Endgame, this film often gets lost in translation. Sarah's cosplay is an excellent reminder of where a now-iconic character started.

When Wanda is first introduced to the MCU with her brother, she's not on the side of the Avengers. She and her brother are actually kept as Hydra test subjects and when the group of heroes raids the facility, she uses her powers of mind control and telekinesis to stop them. Eventually, the siblings are recruited by the villain of the film, Ultron. Of course, they soon realize that Ultron's intentions are horrific and turn against them. Eventually, Wanda becomes a full-fledged Avenger.

Though she doesn't have a massive impact on the franchise before WandaVision, Wanda is actually one of the most powerful MCU characters. Interestingly, though she is seen as an Avenger, her anti-hero arc has continued throughout her time in the series. In WandaVision, she's revealed as somewhat of a bad guy and is rumored to be one of the main villains, if not the main villain in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Wanda's character has taken a huge journey throughout her time in the MCU, and Sarah's spot-on cosplay recreation is a wonderful reminder of where it all began. Since posting this look, she's continued to post many amazing cosplay looks to her Instagram page, recreating iconic costumes from lots of pop culture's strong female characters.
