Skydance Interactive's VR game The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners is set to receive an update in the next few weeks. The new content, titled Aftershocks, releases on May 20 and will be free on all platforms.

The announcement of the Aftershocks expansion comes nearly a year after the announcement of the fan-favorite Meatgrinder Update, the last major The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners content update. The previous update introduced the Trials mode, a wave-based mode that had players killing hordes of zombies, with the ability to use any of the weapons available in The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners' main campaign.

Aftershocks is a free expansion to Skydance Entertainment's The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, which will offer players who've completed the main campaign new missions, collectibles, and survival tools as they explore several hours worth of new content set in the "undead city" of New Orleans. While the full scope of the content expansion's plot remains unknown, the PSVR trailer indicates players will be tasked with recovering a large stockpile of supplies from a military bunker known as The Reserve. Players will once again be faced with hordes of the undead, in addition to fighting against enemy groups of survivors.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners is considered one of the best video games to come out of the IP, next to TellTale's The Walking Dead series. One of the latter's most popular characters Clementine is getting her own TWD story in anthology comic series Skybound X. Despite the original comic ending in 2019, and the long-running AMC TV series entering its final season, The Walking Dead universe continues to thrive in video games.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners is available now on PC and PSVR, and Oculus. The Aftershocks update releases May 20.
