A cutscene from The Walking Dead: Destinies makes one of the saddest moments in the TV series unintentionally hilarious. The Walking Dead: Destinies is the latest Walking Dead game to hit the market. Instead of being based in the same world as the comic books, as is the case with Telltale's Walking Dead series, The Walking Dead: Destinies is firmly rooted in the universe of the AMC TV adaptation.

This article will have MAJOR SPOILERS for The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead AMC series retains many of the big moments from the comic books, but tends to remix them with different characters or change certain details about them. This includes important character deaths, like the tragic death of Lori Grimes. In The Walking Dead comic book series, Lori and her newborn daughter Judith are killed by a shotgun blast. In the TV series, Lori instead dies during childbirth, but Judith survives.

The Walking Dead: Destinies Is Getting Roasted Online

Upon its imminent release, The Walking Dead: Destinies is getting roasted across social media platforms following first player impressions.

This is one of the saddest moments in the entire Walking Dead TV series, as Lori says goodbye to her son Carl, who has to ultimately shoot his own mother in the head to keep her from turning into a zombie and then relay the news to his father Rick, who has an absolutely heartbreaking reaction. The Walking Dead: Destinies game takes this traumatic moment and accidentally makes it more amusing than anything else, largely thanks to the game's over-the-top voice acting combined with the slideshow-like cutscenes it employs instead of properly animating the characters.

A video uploaded by ManuGames shows the scene in question from two different perspectives. One instance shows how Shane reacts if he's the one that survives up to that point in the game, while the other shows Rick's reaction. One of the main draws of The Walking Dead: Destinies is that it works like a Marvel's What If? for The Walking Dead television universe, giving players the chance to make decisions that can reshape the narrative and determine who lives or dies. However, this video shows that there is no significant difference if it's Rick or Shane that's present when Lori dies, though their hysterical screaming looks hilariously out of place when combined with their frozen faces and bodies.

The Walking Dead: Destinies has been ridiculed since its launch earlier this month, with many criticizing its low-effort cutscenes, janky gameplay, and poor graphics compared to most modern games. However, that hasn't stopped the game from being a sales success. While official numbers are unavailable at the time of this writing, there is evidence to suggest that The Walking Dead: Destinies sales have been solid.
