The new Yoko Taro game Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars may look like an average card game, but it is mostly RPG in nature. Therefore, it is imperative to have a good team with excellent skills that synergize well in order to deal the most DPS, especially against particularly difficult bosses or old-school JRPG-style random encounters. This means building the best team as early as possible.

Best Early Game Team in Voice of Cards

In the beginning, players only have three party members to choose from in Square Enix's Voice of Cards: the Main character (Ash), Mar, and Melanie. Mar is great with his two-gem attack that deals damage to all enemies while Ash can heal and attack with a variety of elements. Melanie is also a good balance as she has some great attacks also with a variety of types.

But players will gather even more team members as they traverse through the towns, like Bruno in Shoreland and Ridis from the Bewildering Woods. So once players have a few more choices for putting their team together, the best composition will also change.

Best Team Composition in Voice of Cards

While all of the characters in Voice of Cards have some great powers and synergy with one another, there is one three-person team that blows the rest out of the water. This team is the Main Character, Melanie, and Ridis, all of whom players will have fairly early in their 15-hour playthrough of Voice of Cards.

  • Ash - Ash is a great source of healing, and he also has a great, zero-gem attack that makes saving up gems for the others easy. While his Newfound Power is pretty useless, he does also have a 10HP healing spell that is great for keeping the other two going.
  • Melanie - Melanie's ability to create gems for zero gems is a lifesaver. Since Melanie basically always goes first, she can create gems for all the others in order to ensure that they can take out the enemies without issue. Her Newfound Power is a healing spell that is also useful for longer fights that pairs well with Ash's healing to keep teams alive. Melania also has a variety of spells that can exploit the elemental weaknesses of Voice of Cards enemies.
  • Ridis - Between her ability to cast 4x attacks and boost the attack power of the team, Ridis is invaluable, especially late game when all her powers are unlocked. While Ridis' Newfound Power is a wind spell that hits all enemies, it's not as useful as her other spells. With Melanie feeding her gems, these three will work together to nuke anything in the game out of existence.
