Square Enix has unveiled a new Visions of Mana trailer that confirms the game will launch on August 29, 2024 PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Visions of Mana is the next installment in the long-running Mana series and the first mainline title in more than 15 years.

The Mana series is one of Square Enix's oldest franchises. The franchise has amassed over 15 games, including mainline titles, spin-offs, and remakes. There hasn't been a brand-new mainline since Heroes of Mana in 2007 for the Nintendo DS, and now, after more than 15 years, a new installment arrives in Visions of Mana. Visions of Mana will feature monsters, characters, and elements characteristic of the series and will also maintain Mana's iconic three-member combat system in an expansive and colorful open-world action-RPG setting.

Visions of Mana Release Date

  • Visions of Mana will be released on August 29, 2024, for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Some familiar side characters from the Mana franchise were spotted during the trailer, such as Niccolo, the anthropomorphic rabbit merchant, the baby dragon Flammie, and Vuscav, a giant turtle that serves as maritime transport in other Mana games. Square Enix confirmed that players will be able to fly around in the open world of Visions of Mana with Flammie.

Alongside the release date, Square Enix revealed bonus items for pre-ordering the game. Players who pre-order will receive the Brave Blade weapon for Val and those who purchase Visions of Mana before September 30, 2024, will receive the Guardian Garment outfit for Val, as well as a set of items that can be used to increase the amount of experience points and loot earned for a fixed period of time.

2024 is shaping up to be great for JRPG fans as the releases just keep coming. Throughout the second half of the year, players can expect Metaphor: ReFantazio from Atlus, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak from Nihon Falcom, Reynatis from FuRyu, and possibly Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, which, if rumors are correct, will see the entire Dragon Quest trilogy receive a remake instead of just the third title.
