The popular adventure animeVinland Saga left fans of the extensive manga series craving a second season. Season 1 came out in July of 2019 and was credited quickly as one of the best anime series to come out of the 2010s. In a special event celebrating the anniversary of the anime, a second season was confirmed to finally be in production.

A short Vinland Saga teaser trailer was released alongside some posters and illustrations announcing the new season. The video clip goes through some stills from the main scenes of the first season, recapping the incredible journey the main character Thorfinn (Yūto Uemura) embarked on and hinting at a new adventure. Although no release date, cast, or studio was announced for the anticipated second season, fans can expect an exhilarating new journey depicted through the clip and poster.

The Vinland Saga trailer is filled with intense displays of anger, hurt, and despair. The series is known for its incredibly beautiful scenery, plus the death or suffering of characters in the show, and that is reflected in the trailer. The last image shows Thorfinn aboard a large vessel looking out at something seemingly in anger or disappointment. The illustrations go on to feature Thorfinn joined with another male and female character, who most likely are joining the previously lone ranger on his next unknown expedition.

Vinland Saga began as a manga series, authored by Makoto Yukimura, starting as a serialization in 2005 running up through 2018. The series gained immense popularity with the subsequent anime show, which was praised for its unique storyline and setting. Vinland Saga takes place in the 11th century, where King Cnut the Great is rising to power. Historical explorer Thorfinn deals with betrayal and anger while on a mission to avenge the wrongful murder of his warrior father. The story leads to various expeditions, the first of which is depicted in the debut season of the show.

Despite the lack of details given about the new season of Vinland Saga, fans can expect director Shuhei Yabuta to return as well as character designer Takahiko Abiru. The first season of the show allowed for an incredibly detailed journey consisting of 24 episodes.

The season still only covered a small portion of the manga series, with far more ground to cover. Hopefully, the same can be expected from the second season of Vinland Saga in whatever new adventure Thorfinn finds himself (and his companions) on.

Vinland Saga season 1 is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
