It was finally confirmed that Vinland Saga season 2 will be released in January 2023. The new season will have several new characters, some of which are definitely going to become fan favorites.

8 Thorgil

Thorgil one of Ketil's sons

Thorgil is the eldest son of Ketil. He is very different from his father and his younger brother. He was far more ruthless than any other person in his family. Thorgil is always on the lookout for new opponents to test his strength. His thirst for battle made him leave his family and to serve in Prince Canute's army.

In many ways, Thorgil is very similar to Thorkell from season 1 of Vinland Saga as both of them only cared about fighting. As one of Ketil's sons, Thorgil is one of the central characters in the arc.

7 Snake

Snake from Vinland Saga

Snake serves as the head of the Ketil's farm guards. His actual name is Roald, and he has been living on Ketil's farm for a long time now. In the Ketil Farm arc, Snake played a prominent role. He got along with Ketil's father, and throughout the arc, he was seen helping the old man out with different chores.

Snake is a very capable fighter and on numerous occasions, he showed why he was worthy of leading the other guards. Physically, Snake was an equal match to Thorfinn, albeit the latter had renounced his old ways, so he was arguably very rusty.

6 Sverkel

Sverkel from Vinland Saga

Sverkel is the father of Ketil. Despite being very aged, Sverkel does not live with his son, instead, he lives separately on his own, and works all the time. Sverkel grows different kinds of things on the land, but he does need help from time to time.

Before Thorfinn's arrival, Sverkel was mainly looked after by Snake. Sverkel helped Thorfinn and Einar with their goal, and he even taught them many valuable lessons. Sverkel is definitely a character that fans should be looking forward to seeing in the anime.

5 Arnheid

Arnheid from Vinland Saga

Arnheid is one of Ketil's many slaves, however, unlike his other slaves, Ketil treated Arnheid differently. He took her as his personal concubine, and he even confided in her. Ketil had many problems but in order to maintain his reputation of being a fearsome warrior, he would only tell Arnheid his secrets.

Arnheid tried to live her life without causing problems for the people around her. Before Arnheid arrived at Ketil's farm, she lived a good life, but she was captured and taken away by traders. Arnehid had a son, but he was killed by the traders because they wanted to increase her price in the market.

4 Ketil

Ketil from Vinland Saga

Early in the arc, Ketil came off as an honorable man, who was fair to everyone including his slaves, however, as the series progressed it became evident that he was not the man that he pretended to be. Ketil created a false image of himself, where he came off as an incredibly powerful man, with a lot of history.

Ketil was a maniac and the moment something did not go according to plan, he would become extremely agitated and cruel. At one point, Ketil was so infuriated by one of his slaves that he beat her up, which killed the child inside her. Furthermore, the beatings that she suffered resulted in her death.

3 Gardar

Gardar attacks Snake

He is Arnheid's husband, and he is introduced towards the end of the arc. When Arnheid was being taken away, Gardar was busy fighting the members of another village, so he had no clue what was happening back at his home. By the time, he found out about the situation and Arnheid, it was too late. Gardar was also turned into a slave, and he had to struggle a lot to find his wife.

2 Olmar

Olmar from Vinland Saga

Olmar is the younger son of Ketil. Unlike his elder brother, Thorgil, Olmar is not good at fighting. Olmar wanted to prove his worth as a man, and, he got into trouble several times while attempting dangerous tasks. As the arc progressed, Olmar began to understand his own strengths and gave up on trying to prove his worth by fighting. His character development alone is worth keeping an eye on.

1 Einar

Einar from Vinland Saga

Einar is among the main characters of the Ketil Farm arc. He was one of the newer slaves that Ketil purchased. With time, Einar formed an excellent friendship with Thorfinn and the two soon became close friends. Einar is very emotional, and his sentiments often landed him in a heap of trouble.

Einar and Thorfinn were given the job of clearing out a piece of land together, which would guarantee their freedom. Later on in the arc, Einar falls in love with another slave, which puts him in a predicament. As the story progresses, Einar opens up to Thorfinn's dream of having a country without war.
