The penultimate installment in the Fast and Furious franchise is surely one of the most hyped films in 2023, and its star Vin Diesel is doing a good job building up that excitement with a new Instagram post that hints a first trailer may come out sooner than expected.

Diesel is of course the face of the franchise, having featured in every Fast and Furious entry save for the second one 2 Fast 2 Furious, and the Hobbs & Shaw spinoff, so it’s no surprise most of the non-lead set photos have come from him. While Fast X is scheduled to premiere on May 19, 2023, that date means the time for proper preview of the biggest cast the series is bound to drop in the coming two months or less according to Dominic Toretto himself.

Through an Instagram picture posted on his personal account (@vindiesel), the actor shared an image of Dom and his sister Mia (played by Jordana Brewster) hugging, with the caption signaling the trailer’s release is less than two months away. With the Fast and Furious being one of Hollywood’s most popular and profitable franchises, that estimate could be pointing to a Super Bowl Sunday trailer, where The Flash is already lined up for its first reveal.

This would not be the first time Toretto and company make an appearance at the Super Bowl as F9, which marked the return of moviegoers to theaters after the pandemic with a $726.2m box office, also showed new footage in that occasion two years ago. As for the actual picture, having Mia and Dom together is something that Diesel fought particularly hard for since the original script for Fast X actually didn’t feature his on-screen sister.

Brewster has appeared in 6 out of 9 Fast and Furious movies so far, tied with many other prominent cast members such as Tyreese Gibson, Ludacris Sun Kang and the late Paul Walker, only behind Michelle Rodriguez’s 7 credits and Diesel’s 8. Except for Walker, all of these actors as well as Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren and John Cena will return for Fast X, now joined by newcomers Brie Larson and Jason Momoa.

Some recent reports even suggest Gal Gadot is coming back for Fast X too, although the nature of her appearance is still a mystery. With such a stacked cast, it’s no wonder Fast Xwill rival Avatar: The Way of Water as one of the most expensive movies of all time.

Fast X is scheduled for release on May 19, 2023.
