Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Announces Its Release Date, Reveals Venom

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 made a surprise appearance at Summer Game Fest this week and gave the first full look at Venom in a piece of concept art that also happens to be the Collector’s edition’s Steelcase art. The game was also given an official release date of October 20, which either purposefully or inadvertently evades the previous rumor of September.

Starfield’s Direct Gives an In-Depth Look at Bethesda’s Sci-Fi Epic

Starfield had its own Direct tacked onto the end of the Xbox Games Showcase, which delivered a long look at its systems and gameplay in highlighting how much freedom players will have throughout an enormous galaxy. Here, Starfield revealed a new and highly dedicated companion system that can even result in romance.

Avowed Gameplay Revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase

Avowed revealed new gameplay today alongside the announcement of a 2024 release window. This offered a look at hand-casted elemental magic and colorful effects; meanwhile, Obsidian’s science-fiction RPG franchise did not make an appearance.

Star Wars Outlaws Revealed with Cinematic Trailer

Ubisoft Massive’s open-world Star Wars game was revealed today, giving a look at protagonist Kay Vess and some of the adventures she will be on. This trailer was entirely story-driven and cinematic, but it will have its first gameplay walkthrough already unveiled during tomorrow’s Ubisoft Forward.

Capcom Showcase Announced for Tomorrow

As if all the news from Summer Game Fest, Xbox Games Showcase, and Starfield Direct weren’t enough, Capcom announced its own dedicated showcase for tomorrow. Tomorrow will also have the Ubisoft Forward airing, which makes it another special day for gamers with back-to-back showcases.

Summer Game Fest came with a number of release date and window announcements, and some shuffled games into a neat order of lineups while others have created a bit of division between fans. Likewise, today’s Xbox Games Showcase had a number of reveals leaked early from Atlus’ Persona franchise that proved true in scattered announcements at the event.

Hogwarts Legacy does not seem to have any post-launch DLC plans, much to the dismay of many fans. There is obviously a lot of Harry Potter content for fans to look back on in the meantime, as well as an entire decade’s worth of content to look forward to in the future, and fans may want to get ahead on the lore for some of the magical creatures that can be found throughout Harry Potter and Hogwarts Legacy alike.

Diablo 4 has been out officially for a little while now, and as the game progresses through its infancy there will be endless shifts in what players consider meta.
