The movie industry is easily one of the hardest-hit entertainment industries when it comes to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. With self-isolation and social distancing becoming the new norm, movie theaters simply can't operate like normal. The result is that many major blockbuster movies have been delayed, and now Venom 2 can be added to the growing list of movies that fans will have to wait longer to see.

Venom 2, now entitled Venom: Let There Be Carnage, was originally set to premiere on October 2, 2020. It's now been pushed back to June 25, 2021. Interestingly enough, June 25, 2021 was the original date that The Batman movie with Robert Pattinson was set to be released, but that movie has also been delayed, now premiering on October 1, 2021 instead.

With Venom: Let There Be Carnage originally set to premiere in October, some fans were hoping that it would be one of the few movies not to get delayed. But it being delayed now throws other movies set to release this fall into question.

Take the Black Widow movie, for example. Originally set to premiere in theaters in May, Black Widow was pushed to November 2020, but if Venom 2 is moving, it seems within the realm of possibility that Black Widow will be delayed as well. Nothing official has been announced on that front, though, so fans shouldn't get too worked up just yet.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will premiere in theaters on June 25, 2021.
