Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt launched with seven archetypes inspired by the tabletop game and other Vampire: The Masquerade media. Six of these were present in the previous playtest, but the Ventrue Enforcer is a newcomer with an array of skills making them well suited to protecting their team, drawing enemy attention, and locking down other vampires' powers.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt is a battle royale by sharkmob set in the World of Darkness, casting players as vampires battling on the streets and rooftops of Prague. Traversing the city, gathering weapons and blood, players fight each other and the forces of the Second Inquisition in an effort to survive the night and carry out the Bloodhunt.

Powers

The Ventrue clan is known as the "Clan of Kings" and specializes in the disciplines Dominate, Fortitude, and Presence. The Ventrue Enforcer uses all three of these disciplines in its moveset.

The Ventrue Clan Power "Flesh of Marble" allows them to render themselves completely invincible for several precious seconds. While brief, this is incredibly useful for advancing through dangerous areas, providing a safe period to reload weapons, and even blocking bullets for teammates in a pinch. The power ends early if the player attacks with a weapon or uses their other active power, so it's important to choose the right moment. It should be noted that Flesh of Marble's invulnerability also negates the effect of the red mist encroaching on the arena, and the toxic gas clouds produced by the crossbow or the Saboteur's Sewer Bomb power.

The Enforcer's Passive Power "Subjugating Presence" allows them to slow down foes in an area around them simply through the force of their presence. This makes it easier to chase down retreating players or slow the pursuit of an opponent should the tables turn on the Enforcer. This power also alerts them if an enemy enters their presence, meaning that it can double as an emergency warning system.

Finally, the Enforcer has the Archetype Power "Unyielding Charge," allowing them to perform a short-range dash that damages and silences any opposing player it hits. Silenced players are unable to use their powers or the special attacks of melee weapons like the katana and scourge blades. While the effect only lasts for a few seconds, it can be devastating when preventing the escape of foes or disrupting their attempts to attack.

Preferred Weapons

As an excellent archetype for entering the fray and avoiding damage, the Enforcer performs very well with close-mid range weaponry like the Burst Rifle, Assault Rifle, and Minigun. With Flesh of Marble to facilitate reloading and advancing on enemy positions even without ready access to cover, the Enforcer can also perform well with melee weaponry. The Katana in particular stands out, providing them with a bullet blocking special ability that can further enhance their formidable defenses.

The crossbow can also be useful as a backup weapon, allowing the Enforcer to drop toxic gas clouds ahead of fleeing targets while using Subjugating Presence to keep them inside the cloud longer than normal. Shotguns also perform excellently at close range and thus pair well with the Enforcer's close-range combat style. A new weapon to the full release of the game is the 9-Barrel, a burst rifle with high damage and tremendous speed once it starts firing. The 9-Barrel performs very well in the hands of the Enforcer due to its excellent damage at any range.

In Vampire: The Masquerade, blood can have additional properties based on the emotional state of the victim it was taken from. In Bloodhunt these resonances form an essential element of match strategy. The Ventrue Enforcer benefits greatly from Sanguine (pink) and Melancholic (purple) resonance in particular. Sanguine resonance grants the player health regeneration at a rate of 1, 2, and then 4 per second. This works well with the Enforcer's Flesh of Marble power, allowing them to enjoy uninterrupted regeneration during their brief invulnerability.

Melancholic resonance reduces the cooldown of Clan Powers by 10%, 25%, and then 50%. This allows the Enforcer to use Flesh of Marble more frequently, enabling them to use it offensively with less downtime between uses. Enforcer players might also find Choleric (orange) resonance useful if they wish to make good use of melee weapons like the Katana. Choleric resonance is incredibly powerful, granting a 10%, 25%, and finally a 50% boost to melee damage. This can make any weapon amazingly deadly at close range, and the skills Flesh of Marble and Unyielding Charge make the Enforcer excellent at closing the gap between them and their foes.
