Vampire Survivors is officially making its way to PlayStation platforms. During the Triple-I Initiative showcase, developers confirmed that the incredibly popular pixel-art rogue-lite will be releasing on PlayStation platforms this summer. Vampire Survivors has already been available for purchase on other platforms in some way or another, with versions releasing on Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles, as well as on mobile and PC.

Vampire Survivors was first released in 2022 and has since become one of the hottest indie titles to hit the video game world. Players are tasked with defeating a near-endless barrage of enemies, ranging from spooky bats and creepy skeletons to full-fledged boss fights. Players gradually unlock new characters, weapons, and abilities, allowing the carnage to spread even faster. The game has proven to be a big hit among both casual and hardcore gamers, with the Steam Deck version becoming one of the most popular ways to play due to Vampire Survivors lending itself greatly to casual handheld sessions.

Vampire Survivors Releases Free Space Update

Vampire Survivors releases another Space-themed update, which is its 36th major patch since the game first reached early access.

As part of the Triple-I Initiate showcase, a PlayStation version of Vampire Survivors has finally been unveiled. Vampire Survivors will officially debut on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this summer, something many fans have been hoping for quite a long time. Vampire Survivors has proven to be one of the most popular indie titles on a variety of platforms but has remained unavailable for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 since it was released back in 2021.

Along with this announcement came the surprise reveal of DLC for Vampire Survivors, which features iconic characters from a legendary video game franchise making their way into the game. During the showcase, developers gave fans an exciting look at brand-new DLC for Vampire Survivors, which features a few characters from the Contra series. The new DLC is titled Operation Guns feat. Contra and will release on May 9. The new DLC includes characters like Brad Fang, who appeared in previous Konami Contra games.

The development team for Vampire Survivors has stayed busy since the release of the game, developing and pushing out various content updates for fans to enjoy. The team announced the first major DLC expansion for Vampire Survivors back in December of 2022, which is titled Legacy of the Moonspell. A second DLC, called Tides of the Foscari, was released in April 2023. There's plenty more planned for the action-oriented game, with a Vampire Survivors animated TV series now in active development. Not many details are known regarding this series, but the developers and showrunners are hoping to turn Vampire Survivors into a "premium television series" for fans to enjoy.
