Vampire Survivors Patch 0.3.0 added a pause menu map to the game, which players can use to locate stage items and chests. Fans cannot access the pause menu map straightaway, though, as they must first unlock it by finding the Milky Way Map. Fortunately, it is not particularly difficult to track down the Milky Way Map in Vampire Survivors, and this guide is here to point players in the right direction and help them use the associated feature once they have unlocked it.

Vampire Survivors: How to Unlock Map

The first step toward finding the Milky Way Map is to unlock Vampire Survivors' third stage, the Dairy Plant. To do this, players must simply reach Level 40 in the Inlaid Library, and that stage is unlocked by reaching Level 20 in the Mad Forest. Notably, fans do not need to complete runs in any of these stages to perform the unlocks, which makes it quite easy to access the Dairy Plant.

With the Dairy Plant unlocked, players should direct their attention to the green arrow that appears at the edge of the screen. Indeed, that arrow is pointing directly to the Milky Way Map, and fans should arrive at the relic after traveling in the direction that is indicated for just a few minutes. While it is true that things can already be a bit hectic at that point in a run, players should be able to sneak in and snatch the map even if they do not put any real effort towards leveling up their characters in Vampire Survivors.

Upon grabbing the Milky Way Map, the pause menu map will become permanently enabled. To use it, Vampire Survivors players must simply open the pause menu by pressing "Esc" on a keyboard or the Options/Menu button on a controller, and the map will be very prominently displayed. It is also worth mentioning that players will now see a "Show Guides" button in the bottom-right corner of the pause menu, and toggling that feature on makes finding stage items even easier.

One final thing to say about the Milky Way Map is that it can also be used to locate coffins in the Mad Forest, Inlaid Library, and Dairy Plant. These objects are associated with further unlocks, which means that many players will undoubtedly want to track them down. That said, fans may want to evolve weapons in Vampire Survivors before heading to the coffins, or they may find it difficult to get past the enemies that surround them.

Vampire Survivors is in early access on PC.
