The upcoming expansion for Vampire Survivors will launch on May 9, including 11 new characters, 22 new weapons, and two stages for players to experience.

The news of Operation Guns' release came four months after Vampire Survivors announced its third DLC and first crossover expansion, Emergency Meeting. As a crossover expansion with Among Us, Emergency Meeting surprised players of both indie games. The DLC included the Polus Replica stage, the ability to play as nine characters from Innersloth's hit indie title, including a Crewmate and an Impostor, and 15 weapons to choose from. Emergency Meeting arrived first on PC and Xbox consoles in December 2023, with releases on Switch and mobile devices weeks later.

  • Launches May 9 on Steam, Xbox, Switch, iOS, and Android for $2.49

The Operation Guns DLC will include a new Adventure set across six chapters. However, the Vampire Survivors development team stated that the expansion's weapons would have slightly lower damage output to emulate the difficulty of the Contra series to some extent. The developers added that various Arcana interactions will allow the difficulty of the DLC to be adjusted at the player's discretion and that some weapons will adhere to the 8-angle firing constraints that older Konami titles had. Some pickups will also be added to the Contra content, including grenades and rapid-firing weapons that can clear through foes quickly.
