Developers Poncle confirms the next big update for Vampire Survivors is only a few weeks away and will include the new Adventure mode. The 1.8 update, also known as The Deeplorable Update, follows hot on the heels of the previous patch that launched for Vampire Survivors players back in October.

The rougelite indie game has been a huge hit with gamers since its release in October 2022 and has chalked up numerous accolades including a BAFTA award for Best Game in 2023. Players have been impressed with the wealth of free updates, which have included a fully-fledged co-op mode being rolled into Vampire Survivors earlier this year. The Deeplorable Update 1.8, however, is set to bring one of the biggest changes to the game so far.

Vampire Survivors Developer Gives Update On Likelihood of Sequel

Vampire Survivors' developer comments on the possibility of a sequel to 2022's breakout indie hit despite the continued post-launch support.

Announced on the Vampire Survivors YouTube channel, the 1.8 update will bring "Adventures" into the game on all Android, iOS, PC, Switch, and Xbox platforms in the coming weeks. In an FAQ posted on the Poncle website, the Adventure modes will offer a self-contained story following the game’s survivors as they navigate "Wacky Sidequests." Each Adventure will remix the established levels, characters, and weapons, as well as introduce a "slightly serious storyline" into the game.

Adventures in Vampire Survivors will be mostly separate from the main game. Players will have a fresh progression path that’s separate from the rest of the game. All power-ups, weapon unlocks, and character progression will start from scratch, however, any progress within the main campaign won’t be affected. That being said, players can still earn coins across all modes in Vampire Survivors which will help to unlock various relics.

To begin with, three adventures will be added, two of which relate to the Vampire Survivors base game and will be added at no extra cost. The third Adventure will form part of the previously released The Legacy of the Moonspell DLC, where players will need to buy the content pack to access the remixed level. Each one of the Adventures is expected to last for around an hour, although players are able to reroll the Adventures to unlock additional perks.

After the introduction of new characters and maps into Vampire Survivors over the last 12 months, it seems that Poncle is committed to providing a wealth of substantial updates. The developer has confirmed that gamers should expect new Adventures to be added with each future update that ensures players keep coming back to the hit indie game for the foreseeable future.
