Valorant players have discovered files that suggest that Riot Games is developing a mobile version of the game. The Valorant beta is now available on PC and will launch in full on the platform in summer, but this doesn't meant that Riot isn't also thinking about bringing the game to mobile.

On Twitter, YouTuber iFireMonkey revealed a huge number of datamined Valorant files. "Icons relating to the game having Mobile support are in the game files," wrote iFireMonkey, who also said that this didn't confirm that a Valorant mobile version is being developed, just that Riot Games has that option. The icons are for things like the Valorant store, the jump button, and the game's settings menu.

The suggestion that Valorant mobile is being developed was also supported by a Reddit post. One Valorant beta player revealed that while playing the game on their laptop, they switched it to tablet mode and this prompted the game to load up the mobile icons. The game did work in tablet mode though it's unclear whether the game felt more difficult to play than the PC version. Riot may have to do more to get pro players enjoying Valorant on mobile and not just on PC.

Riot hasn't officially confirmed that it is developing Valorant for mobile but the success of games like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite, which have been released on mobile, consoles, and PC, makes it more likely. However, a mobile version of the game is likely to come long after launch as the Valorant beta is incredibly popular on PC and it's unclear if Riot is ready to start taking ideas and fixing issues suggested by mobile players.

Valorant is available in closed beta now on PC.
