Despite only being in Early Access, survival crafting game Valheim is becoming incredibly popular. No doubt in part because of some of the amazing creations its players have made, such as adding a little slice of Skyrim into the game.

Valheim is good at encouraging creativity in its players. The game gives its players incredible freedom in crafting and constructing fortresses and settlements, from the subdued to the massive. Players have stretched the building systems to their limits with amazing creations like building Sauron's Tower from the Lord of the Rings, complete with the Eye of Sauron, in the game.

Reddit user Djchieu recently showed off one of the the more interesting creations made in the game: the city of Whiterun from the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. He's been working on it with fellow Reddit users Holly and Shady for the past few weeks now. The city is still incomplete, but it's been received very well.  It's also built in a prime location for a Valheim base, with a river nearby and trees at a safe distance. The general layout is all there, as are several of the buildings, such as the blacksmith Warmaiden's just inside the gates.

Whiterun is a city with a ton of interesting hidden locations. It's usually the first major settlement the player will visit on their journey in Skyrim. It's the closest city to the exit of the tutorial dungeon, and the game tries to guide the player there with its early missions, which lead the player to reporting on the return of the dragons to the Jarl of Whiterun. The city boasts an impressive array of services and interesting quests, which are likely to keep the player coming back throughout their journey.

This build is arguably amazing, and the Norse inspired setting of Whiterun fits in perfectly with the Norse inspired setting of Valheim. The architectural styles of the two games are incredibly similar owing to their shared inspirations, and this helps Valheim's Whiterun to feel all the more authentic. The care and effort Djchieu, Holly, and Shady, have all put in to this build shows though clearly in the parts of the town they've put together so far.

Whiterun Valheim isn't quite finished yet, and there's still quite a long ways to go. But it will be exciting to see the build as it progresses and maybe works in some of the more interesting hidden locations from in and around Whiterun. It's also probably the closest thing the gaming public will have to The Elder Scrolls 6 for long while.

Valheim is available now in Steam Early Access on PC.
