There are a variety of different biomes in Valheim’s sandbox world that players have to get accustomed to while working their way through the game. Each has its own aesthetic and unique benefits and players have spent the time since the release of the game making creations to fit each biome. One Valheim player recently did just that by bringing Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum to the game’s Swamp biome.

Valheim is a survival and sandbox game that was released in February 2021. Players are dropped into a massive open world split into several biomes. The game includes a building mechanic through which players can create structures, workbenches, and entire bases. The Sanctum Sanctorum is the personal residence of Doctor Strange located in New York City.

This clip comes from u/Grrvvpp23, and they show off a build that Marvel fans should recognize right away. In Valheim’s challenging and eerie swamp biome, this player has created their own version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. U/Grrvvpp23 starts the video in free camera and shows off this brilliant reconstruction in its entirety and the design matches the look of this structure in Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme film quite well. They shift to the traditional view in the game and walk around the creepy grounds of this building. There is a giant skull resting on the ground outside and the interior is impressively decorated with a mix of stone, wood, and glass. There are numerous displays as well as intricate iron works within the building.

Valheim players familiar with its building system will likely realize quickly that this build is not possible in the vanilla version of the game. Those looking to match this look have to download the modes Valheim+, Odin’s Architect, Clutter, PlantIt!, Gizmo Reloaded, and Better Creative. These help make possible additions such as the giant skull which can traditionally only be found in the Mistlands of Valheim.

Mods can take Valheim’s building mechanic to new heights by allowing players much more placing freedom and more structures to create. While the vanilla system has seen updates since the game’s early access release, mods greatly improve the capabilities of the latest version of the original system.

Then again, mods aren’t for every player, especially those who took to Valheim for its survival mechanics and resource-gathering challenges. Either way, this player has brought one of the creepier designs for Dr. Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum in the perfect place.

Valheim is available now for PC and will come to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2023.
