The new Mistlands update for Valheim has brought an entire new biome to the game. With this new area, the developers have brought in plenty of new resources and items to collect and build. One of the core tenets that Iron Gate Studio focused on when creating the Mistlands was to ensure this new biome would be exceedingly difficult.

Fortunately, players now have access to a new forge where they can craft better weapons to handle the creatures that populate the biome. One of the more important of these is the Mistwalker, a powerful sword that can make quick work of most of Valheim's creatures. For those players looking to craft this weapon, most of the needed materials can be found in the Mistlands.

How to Craft a Mistwalker Sword?

The recipe for a Mistwalker Sword calls for 3 Fine Wood, 15 Iron, 10 Refined Eitr, and 3 Wisps and this should become available once players have located at least one example of each. Fine Wood can be harvested from Birch and Oak trees that grow in the Plains and Meadows biomes while Scrap Iron can now be found in both the Swamp biome and the Mistlands. Scrap Iron can be harvested from Muddy Scrap Piles in the former and from Ancient Swords and Armor in the latter.

Wisps require players build the new Wisp Fountain from the Mistlands update and place it outside. Wisps can be harvested at night and are a much easier prospect than Refined Eitr. That material requires players combine Sap and Soft Tissue at an Eitr Refinery. Sap can be extracted from the glowing Yggdrasil Roots in the Mistlands while Soft Tissue needs to be mined from Petrified Bone skulls.

What are the Mistwalker Sword Stats?

The Mistwalker sword is one of the better weapons in all of Valheim and one of the more interesting ones. At its base level, the Mistwalker can deal 75 Slash and 40 Frost damage at the cost of 16 Stamina. It also boasts an impressive block armor stat of 48 which is 9 more than the powerful Black Metal Sword. Similar to other swords, however, it does decrease movement speed by 5 percent.

The unique ability of this sword is its ability to disperse the mist in the new Mistlands biome. While Valheim's new Wisplight is the traditional route for exploring the Mistlands safely, the Mistwalker can be used in its place. With the sword equipped and in hand, the misted areas will clear up around the player.

Valheim is available now for PC, and releases in early 2023 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
