How to Craft the Jotun Bane in Valheim?

The Jotun Bane requires players gather 15 Iron bars, 5 Yggdrasil Wood, 3 Bilebags, and 10 Refined Eitr and can only be crafted at Valheim's new Black Forge. It is the sixth one-handed axe in the progression arc within this game, making it better at chopping than even the Black Metal Axe associated with the game's Plains biome.

The base stats of the Jotun Bane in Valheim include the capacity to deal 80 Slash damage, 40 Poison damage, and deal 60 Knockback at the cost of 16 stamina per primary attack. On the defensive side, this axe boasts a Block Armor stat of 48, a Block Force stat of 20, and a durability of 175. This weapon can also be upgraded once at a level 2 Black Forge for 10 Iron, 1 Bilebag, and 1 Refined Eitr. This price improves the Jotun Bane's Slash damage by 5, Block Force by 5, and durability by 50.

Where to get the Ingredients for the Jotun Bane?

As this weapon was added through Valheim's new Mistlands update, it requires some materials that can only be found in this new biome. This list starts with Yggdrasil Wood which can be harvested from chopping down Yggdrasil shoots that grow throughout the Mistlands. From here, Bilebags are drops from the floating, aggressive creatures from this area and so killing these creatures should grant players with enough of this item to create the Jotun Bane.

The third item that is exclusive to the Mistlands, Refined Eitr is produced by combining Soft Tissue and Sap at an Eitr Refinery. This machine is craftable through the game's hammer once players have found Black Metal, Black Marble, Yggdrasil Wood, Black Cores, and Sap. The final ingredient is the product of smelting Scrap Iron at Valheim's Smelter. The scrap form can be found within the Mistlands biome from Ancient Armor or within Swamp biome as part of Muddy Scrap Piles.

Valheim is available now for PC, and releases in early 2023 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
