The latest update to Valheim adds a new dungeon to explore in the Mountain biome: Frost Caves. These new areas host three new enemies for players to come to grips with, including Bats, Ulve, and Cultists, as well as new crafting items to gather. On top of these additions to Valheim, this update also brings a new armor set and a new weapon: Flesh Rippers.

Flesh Rippers is an impressive two-handed weapon that players can create with this update to Valheim. However, these weapons require new materials with which players may not be accustomed yet. For those players looking to craft Flesh Rippers and use them to their greatest effect, this guide is here to help.

How to Craft Flesh Rippers in Valheim

Items, weapons, and armor in Valheim are tied to one of the crafting stations in the game. In order to craft Flesh Rippers, players need to head to their level 3 Forge. Once there, players will find that this new weapon requires two new items added through this update: Fenris Hair and Fenris Claws.

The recipe calls for 10 Fenris Hair, 6 Fenris Claws, and 10 silver bars. Both of the first two items require players to head to the new Frost Caves in Valheim. Fenris Hair can be found along the walls of some interior sections in these caves and can also be dropped by the Ulve as well.

Fenris Claws, on the other hand, are often seen on podiums within these caves and can be picked up from these locations. It would likely take players at least a pair of Frost Caves to get the required amount for this build.

The silver that players need in order to craft Flesh Rippers is also found in the game's Mountain biome. After defeating Bonemass, the third boss in Valheim, players earn themselves the Wishbone.

This item glows when it is near to a deposit of silver in the mountains and can lead players right to enough raw silver to complete this build. Combining this silver ore in a Smelter with coal results in the silver needed for the Flesh Rippers.

When to Use Flesh Rippers in Valheim

Flesh Rippers is a two-handed weapon players can now craft and wear in the game. These are primarily useful for enemies who are weak to slashing damage. In fact, players who use stealth within the game will likely find these items particularly useful as they deal significant damage with backstabs.
