Players looking to join in Valheim's Mistlands update will likely find their route in this new biome obscured by mist. This feature that gives the biome its name can obscure valuable materials and ferocious enemies and make journeying in the latest biome in Valheim almost impossible. Fortunately, there is something that can resolve this with ease: the Wisplight.

While it is possible to explore Valheim's Mistlands without it, the Wisplight makes the challenging area much more straightforward to manage. For those players looking to craft a Wisplight and put it to use, this guide is here to help.

How to Craft a Wisplight?

Before players can unlock the recipe for the Wisplight, they need to find a Wisp. This new creature in Valheim has been added by the Mistlands update which is currently on the game's Public Test Server. In order to attract Wisps, players need to create a Wisp Fountain. This new structure's recipe will become available after players defeat Yagluth, the fifth boss in Valheim, and pick up its reward: a Torn Spirit. The Wisp Fountain can be crafted with one Torn Spirit and ten stone but must be placed in an open area in order to attract Wisps.

Wisps will only appear at night but, once they arrive, interacting with these glowing creatures will drop them on the ground for players to pick up. In order to create a Wisplight players will also need one bar of Silver, a material whose ore can be found in the Mountain biome. Silver is easiest to find with the Wishbone, the item that Valheim's third boss, Bonemass, gives up after being defeated. With this item equipped, it will glow as players get closer to veins of Silver Ore. This can be smelted in a Smelter at the cost of coal. With both ingredients in hand, players can craft a Wisplight at a level 1 Workbench.

How to Use a Wisplight?using a wisp in valheim

Using a Wisplight is relatively straightforward as this item functions similarly to Megingjord (which increases a player's total carry weight) and the Dverger circlet (which acts as a light source) that can be purchased from Valheim's trader. With the item in a player's inventory, they need only right click to activate and release the Wisp. With this active, the creature will disperse the mist as players move about. The Wisplight will fly around the player while they walk, fight, and explore the game world but is most useful in the Mistlands.
