The different meals within Valheim play an important part in tackling the challenges of the game. These meals impact the maximum Health, Stamina, and Eitr of a player's character but typically offer more of one of these stats than others. With three slots to fill, players can play with how they want to build up their character for their next challenge.

One of the most interesting new meals brought to Valheim through the Mistlands biome update is the Yggdrasil Porridge. This meal offers one of the most impressive Eitr stat boosts in the game. For those magic users looking to cook Yggdrasil Porridge, this guide is here to help.

How to Cook a Yggdrasil Porridge in Valheim?

The Yggdrasil Porridge recipe can only be crafted at Valheim's Cauldron and only at one that has all four upgrades. At a level 5 Cauldron, players need to bring 3 Barley, 4 Sap, and 2 Royal Jelly. For this price, players craft this meal which produces 27 Health, 13 Stamina, and 80 Eitr. This places it firmly in second place as the most powerful magical meal in the game behind only the Seeker Aspic.

Eitr is the magic resource added to the game through the Mistlands update and is the only way players can use the new magical weapons. For example Valheim's new Staff of Frost uses 5 Eitr per shot it fires. Players who only eat Yggdrasil Porridge would therefore be able to fire off 16 shots before having to let their resource bar recover.

Where to Find the Ingredients for a Yggdrasil Porridge?

As with any item or meal that requires players travel to the new Mistlands biome, Yggdrasil Porridge's ingredients can be difficult to acquire. The first of these, Barley, is a plant that grows in Valheim's Plains biome at Fuling Villages. Fulings grow Barley as well as store it within chests and players can typically find this ingredient at these locations.

The other pair of ingredients requires Valheim players enter the Mistlands. Sap is earned by placing a Sap Extractor on one of the glowing Ancient Roots within this biome. The Sap Extractor can only be created at a Workbench and requires 10 Yggdrasil Wood, 5 Black Metal, and 1 Dverger extractor. Royal Jelly is a yellow substance that can be found in piles within the dungeons in the Mistlands known as the Infested Mines.

Valheim is available now for PC, and releases in early 2023 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
