Legendary weapons offer new ways for players to gear themselves up in V Rising: Secrets of Gloomrot. But, before they can sink their teeth into this new tier of weaponry, vampires will have to go through a couple of hurdles—the first of which is to make an Ancestral Forge, a unique crafting station that's specifically designed with legendary equipment in mind.
The Ancestral Forge's sole purpose is to restore broken weapons back to their former glory. It is one of the stepping stones for late-game crafting, and players will need this station unlocked if they want to experience everything that the new V Rising update has to offer.
How to Unlock the Ancestral Forge Recipe in V Rising
To get the recipe for the Ancestral Forge, players need to beat Raziel the Shepherd, a level 57 boss who can be found in the main chapel of the Dunley Monastery. He's a relatively enemy to fight, but the crowd-controlling effects on his skills can set players up for failure if they aren't careful.
Before heading to the chapel, players will need to prepare some Holy Resistance Potions first. The Dunley Monastery is protected by divine light, and stepping foot within its premises will affect vampires with Holy Radiation, a debuff that rapidly eats away at their HP. It is impossible to survive inside the monastery without some way to resist this effect.
Holy Resistance Potions are crafted at an Alchemy Table by combining the following ingredients:
- 1x Water-filled Bottle
- 1x Grave Dust
- 60x Sunflower
Traders at the Dunley Farmer's Market may also have these potions up for sale. Also, players might stumble upon these while they're raiding towns and militia camps. Holy Resistance Potions sometimes drop from destroyed crates or are found inside containers.
Crafting an Ancestral Forge
Beating Raziel is not the end. To make an Ancestral Forge, players need a supply of Radium Alloy. This new material randomly drops in Southern Gloomrot—specifically, the Transcendum Machine Factory. Break crates and open chests in the area for a shot at finding the alloys.
Alternatively, players can beat Zika the Engineer, who is the resident boss inside the factory. She uses an arsenal of heavy weapons in battle, and she can call sentry bots to keep players pinned as well. Have a total Gear Level of at least 60 before attempting to fight her. Beating Zika will unlock the recipe for Radium Alloy, Empty Canisters, and the new Fabricator crafting station.
Ancestral Forges require the following materials:
- 1x Primal Blood Essence
- 8x Radium Alloy
- 16x Iron Ingot
