Skill Jewels are one of the newest additions to V Rising: Secrets of Gloomrot. They drastically change how vampiric powers are used by giving them a variety of modifiers. These range from simple stat boosts to effects that grant various buffs to the player and different on-hit effects against targets.
These trinkets completely change the way combat works in V Rising, and every vampire should have one Skill Jewel socketed into their favorite spells if they want to stand a chance against the many new enemies that the Secrets of Gloomrot expansion has introduced.
How to Get Skill Jewels in V Rising
Skill Jewels can drop randomly from V Rising's bosses and common enemies, and sometimes, players can loot them from chests scattered all over the world. More difficult enemies tend to drop higher-tier Skill Jewels, with additional modifiers that can roll with better stats.
Players should have no problem encountering Skill Jewels as they adventure around Vardoran. However, getting the right gem for the right skill with all the right modifiers involves absurd amounts of luck. Thankfully, Skill Jewels can also be crafted once players reach a certain point in the game.
How to Craft Skill Jewels
Skill Jewel crafting comes much later in the game. To unlock this V Rising feature, players need to beat Raziel the Shepherd, a level 57 V Blood boss inside the Dunley Monastery. This boss isn't too hard to fight, but it'll be impossible to get inside the monastery without some way to negate Holy Radiation.
Typically, this is done by making and drinking Holy Resistance Potions. Players must first beat Grethel the Glass Blower in order to unlock the Empty Bottle recipe that's needed to make potions. This part can be skipped by simply purchasing Holy Resistance Potions or Empty Bottles from merchants, though beating the boss is still highly recommended.
Once Raziel is beaten, he'll give players the recipe for the Jewelcrafting Station along with recipes for Tier 2 Skill Jewels. To unlock the higher tier craftable options, players must beat Mairwyn the Elementalist, a level 70 V Blood boss in the Silverlight Hills, near the Farbane Woods border.
