V Rising has a challenging gameplay in terms of combat situations, and players can use one travel spell, one for which is provided at the start of the game, two other utility spells, and one "ultimate". Players will unlock new spells and new spell trees with each V Blood Carrier they kill. These spells trees all have some common types of spells, such as a projectile, a protective, and a travel spell.

Each spell tree also has a unique effect that provides different benefits to the player, such as Leech, Ignite and Condemn. Later on, players can craft legendary weapons they find, that will also have one of these effects embedded in their skills. Using the right combination of spells is vital to survival of any vampire, and here are several combinations that work the best.

3 The Blood Bender

V rising counter

In this loadout, players fully utilize the blood magic spell tree and turn the blood of their enemies into their nourishment.

As a summary, Leech is a condition that is applied to enemies by using spells from the Blood Magic spell tree, and the player heals a certain percentage of the damage they deal to a leeched enemy. As the travel spell, "Veil Of Blood" is used, which is accessible right at the start of the game. It is always advised to use at least one protective spell in the loadout, and in this loadout it would be "Blood Rite". As the offensive spell, "Shadowbolt" is used, and the players can slap on any ultimate they unlock until they defeat Raziel the Shepherd, unlocking "Crimson Beam".

As it might be regarded as a rather simple loadout, it is quite preferable for new players and will benefit them greatly until they unlock other spells that can be combined with each other. Using the "Leech" effect wisely will provide the player superior magic damage that can be focused on single enemies, such as bosses, or multiple grunts at once, helping the player maintain their health and keep on fighting.

2 Lord Of The Damned

V Rising Ward of the Damned

Using this loadout, after they are out of blood, the enemies of the vampire will serve them with their bones in death.

This loadout can be used when halfway from the top of the bloodline, as none of the spells are available to the player until defeating a level 35 boss. The effect of the Unholy Magic school is Condemn, which increases an effected enemy's received damage, and summons a skeleton to fight for the player when an effected enemy dies. As the travel skill, Veil of Bones; as the offensive skill, Corrupted Skull; as the protective skill, Ward Of The Damned; and as the ultimate, Volatile Arachnid are used.

This loadout focuses more on getting rid of the enemy, rather than healing the player. When used wisely, the player can easily distract a boss, preventing a probable burst of damage and providing an opportunity to catch their breath. The unholy warriors summoned whenever a condemned enemy dies will also help the player take care of weak but annoying enemies. Overall, this loadout is preferable for players who adopt an offensive play style, while still want some room to fight.

1 Eye Of The Storm

V Rising Raging Tempest

Crackle between the enemies like a thunder and unleash the fury of a hurricane upon them.

It would most definitely be a sin to not include the new magic school, Storm Magic. Although the spells are relatively hard to acquire the power they provide is well worth the effort. The effect of this magic tree is Static, it deals an effected enemy 10% magic damage whenever it is attacked. This enables players to deal high amounts of damage that would otherwise be unreachable. The loadout consists of Veil of Storm as the travel spell; Discharge as the protective spell; Cyclone as the projectile spell; and Raging Tempest as the ultimate.

While the offensive abilities of this loadout overshadow the others, it is a relatively hard one to acquire because of the high level of V Blood Carriers that need to be killed in order to unlock the spells. Once unlocked, however, they provide excellent mobility and damage bursts that will enable the player to easily take on even the high level enemies in the mid to late game. When timed properly, the player can continuously deliver great amounts of damage with the Static effect, cutting down on chunks of health of any hefty boss they dare to face.

However, when facing a difficult boss that requires a change to the player's loadout, any vampire must be able to create a diverse and relevant loadout that best uses the spells available at hand. Some bosses will require players to be more face-to-face with them, while some other bosses will require the player to keep their distance. In both of situations, the player would need to come up with a unique and effective loadout that may include spells from different magic schools. Either way, the ones that prevail will be the ones who make the most of their opportunities.

There are of course other loadouts that can be used in some parts of the game, but these are the ones that prove most useful in PvE combat. Also, when jewels are unlocked, players can customize the spells provided in these loadouts and enhance their power.
