A new map naturally comes with new territories to occupy. This is especially important in survival games like V Rising: Secrets of Gloomrot, where having easy access to important resources can drastically affect how quickly players can progress.

The eponymous Gloomrot region adds a toxic swamp and storm-ridden hills to the north of V Rising's world. It's chock-full of new materials that players need to get their hands on if they want to make any progress down the game's revamped tech and power trees. There are a few interesting base locations here, including some high-value ones that might become highly contested in the future. Here are a few spots for players to consider occupying.

V Rising Southern Gloomrot Best Base Locations

Southern Gloomrot base locations in V Rising

There's a cluster of claimable territories in the middle of Southern Gloomrot, close to the Transcendum Machine Factory. This POI is the home of Zika the Engineer, one of the new V Blood bosses who also drops recipes for the Fabricator, Radium Alloy, and Empty Canister. A little bit southwest of the factory is the Transcendum Mine, which is a good place to get resources like Copper and Sulphur Ores.

The territories indicated in the map above offer decent space for all sorts of builders. There are also numerous Transcendum Camps and mutant spawn points all over the area, making it a great place to farm Tech Parts and Monster Grease. More importantly, they are close to a Cave System (marked by the yellow circle) that lets players quickly travel back to the Bandit Copper Mine in the Farbane Woods.

Northern Gloomrot Base Locations

Northern Gloomrot Base locations in V Rising

It is much harder to settle in Northern Gloomrot because of the never-ending lightning storm covering the area. Should players decide to make a base in this region, the best place to do so is just slightly north of the Pools of Rebirth, atop the double-layered hill.

Compared to the other territories in this sector of the map, this one is the easiest to defend. Players can start their base on the topmost part of the hill, which will force would-be PvP attackers to come from only one direction. The lower part of the territory can be turned into a graveyard to deter other players from invading. Meanwhile, players can use the new vertical building feature to make a tall castle that can fit everything they need in a base.

One noteworthy spot in Northern Gloomrot is the Treasure Hunter Trade Post in the west (indicated by the yellow circle). It's relatively far from the region's most important POIs, but it is close to Silverlight Hills. Having an outpost near the border between the two regions may be worthwhile.
