Mounts in V Rising are game changers once players need to start traveling long distances. While the game features a fast travel system, players can only use it when they aren't carrying bound items (unless they turn that setting off). Additionally, while the Wolf Form can be used to travel, it isn't nearly as fast as a horse.

However, many players are looking to upgrade their Nightfall Steed. This can be done by crafting a saddle and equipping it. Some saddles even give the horse a new look and fun visual effects. Keep reading to learn how to unlock, craft, and use a Vampire Saddle in V Rising.

How To Unlock The Vampire Horse Saddle In V Rising

New vampire horses in V Rising Secrets of Gloomrot

The Vampire Horse Saddle is a reward given to players for successfully using the Dominate Horse Vampiric Power. Dominate Horse, in turn, is unlocked by completing the Quest "A Castle in the Sky." This quest requires a number of late game resources, such as Primal Blood Essence and Radium Alloy.

To successfully use Dominate Horse, select the power from your Vampire Power wheel. Then, use the ability that appears on your hotbar, aiming at a horse you have mounted at least once. Players need only press the key briefly to activate the ability, and then wait for the channel to complete (similar to subduing a human).

Crafting Recipe For the Vampire Horse Saddle

To craft a Vampire Horse Saddle for their Nightfall Steed, players will need the following:

Once they have these materials, players must take them to the Leatherworking Station. Here the recipe should be available to craft if you've unlocked it.

How To Unlock Cosmetic Horse Saddles In V Rising

the two DLC horse saddles currently available in V Rising

There are also two other saddles available in V Rising. These are the Plague Chemist's Saddle, and the Rowdain Steed Saddle. These provide the same benefits of the base saddle, but also alter the visuals of your Nightfall Steed. They will be unlocked at the same time as the base saddle, provided that the player owns the relevant DLC. For the Plague Chemist's Saddle, the player must own the Sinister Revolution Pack. In the case of the Rowdain Steed Saddle, players must own the Legacy of Castlevania Expansion.

Players who own the DLC can share cosmetic saddles with players who do not own the DLC by dropping a copy of the item. It can then be picked up and equipped as normal by the other player.

Benefits Given By The Vampire Horse Saddle In V Rising

Once equipped, the Vampire Horse Saddle increases the Nightfall Steed's speed by 1. In addition, it increases the horse's acceleration by 1. This is a very noticeable amount in the game, allowing you to far exceed the speed of your wolf form while traversing the map. However, this increase is best used on a horse with already high stats. The stats of horses that spawn on the map are always randomized.
