As players begin to accumulate weapons and items in V Rising, they are sure to notice that some of them are marked as "salvageable." Indeed, it is possible to break these items down into raw resources, and that is something that many fans will undoubtedly be interested in doing. However, there is little indication in-game of exactly how to salvage in V Rising, and this guide is here to walk players through the process.

V Rising: How to Salvage Weapons

Players that would like to salvage their unneeded items will need to have access to the Devourer, a special chest that is constructed from 12 Planks and six Copper Ingots. Survival game fans will not be able to build this container immediately upon starting the game, though, as they must first unlock its blueprint. To do this, players will need to dispatch Lidia the Chaos Archer, a Level 26 boss that can be tracked through the Blood Altar.

For full clarity, the Blood Altar is an important construction in V Rising that players will place inside their castles as they work through the game's quests. Once a Blood Altar has been built, players can interact with it to see a list of bosses that they can hunt. Selecting one of those bosses and clicking on the "Track Blood" button below their portrait will cause a red trail to appear, and fans can follow it directly to the enemy that they are interested in eliminating.

After following this process and defeating Lidia the Chaos Archer, players can return to their castles and build the Devourer. This chest can be found under Refinement, which is accessed through the Production tab of the Build menu, and fans should interact with it once it has been placed. Players should then simply insert the items that they are interested in salvaging into one of the Devourer's input slots and wait for their raw materials in V Rising to appear in its output slots.

To note, there are many other rewards beyond the Devourer blueprint that players will earn by defeating Blood Altar bosses. As an example, fans can unlock the Tannery by dispatching Keely the Frost Archer, a Level 20 boss, and that will allow them to make Leather in V Rising. The Blood Altar is thus a very important tool, and it is recommended that players familiarize themselves with its functionality sooner rather than later.

V Rising is in early access on PC.
