The multiplayer survival game V Rising has seemingly found an audience with PC players, surpassing 1 million in sales in just a week after becoming available through Early Access on Steam. It's likely the appeal comes from familiar elements taken from games like Diablo and Valheim, mixing them together into a fresh experience that sees players awakening as Vampires and looking to set up a new fortress and gain power.

While becoming stronger, V Rising players will not only need to gain better gear and vampire abilities, but they'll need to rebuild their castle which has seemingly fallen into disrepair. Through exploring and gathering resources, players will be able to restore their base of operations while expanding out to increase their territory.

A big part or the process for gaining important resources and the knowledge to craft new objects is locating and taking out the numerous V Rising bosses like Beatrice the Tailor. However, each boss presents a unique challenge, not only for finding their particular hideout but dealing with each encounter. Here's everything players need to know about the frost archer, Keely.

Where to Find Keely the Frost Archer

Before getting started, V Rising players should be around level 20 with gear appropriate to that level as well. When ready, use the Blood Altar boss list to select Keely and be given a clue as to where she can be found.

Ultimately, the hint will take players to the Bandit Trapper Camp in Farbane Woods where this dangerous frost archer is currently hiding. This zone can be found east of the Forgotten Cemetery or west of the Farbane Woods Waygate. This region is also great for those looking for important resources like Paper, Coarse Thread, Leather, and Animal Hide.

Combat Tips

The Bandit Camp will likely make the fight a bit more challenging depending on how V Rising players approach it. There are enemy patrols roaming throughout the camp as well as bears nearby as well, so players are highly encouraged to take out as many mobs as possible, or they will likely join in on the boss fight.

When taking on the boss, players will find that Keely prefers to fight at range, keeping her distance from the player as much as possible. She has a few tells as when she's preparing to use a special attack, she freezes in place as she charges her move. This small window gives players a chance to prepare a dodge, avoiding the move and letting them close the distance to continue attacking. Keely's moveset includes a handful of abilities including shooting three frost arrows, a barrage of arrows that cause an AoE freeze, as well as going invisible before reappearing and leading to either the tri-shot or AoE damaging strike. The tri-shot arrow attack is much easier to dodge at range.

While it's optimal to face Keely at night, players can do battle during the day if they want. However, players may want to try and lure her under the large tent in the middle of the camp to help avoid the harsh and damaging sunlight.

Rewards and Unlocks

For taking down Keely, players will be rewarded with a number of important items. Three recipes will give the player access to crafting leather, Traveler's Wrap, and an Empty Canteen, which extends the life of the player's horse. In addition, players will unlock a blueprint to create a tannery at their castle.

Defeating Keely also awards players the Frost Bat Vampire Power. When used in combat, players launch an explosive bat projectile that causes explosive magic damage and adds a chill effect to enemies. It's a solid crowd control style move that can not only impact a large group, but slow down enemies that are fast moving.
