V Rising: How to Open the Silver Mine Gates
The Sacred Silver Mine is an important location in V Rising's endgame, but players may have a tough time getting in and out of there.
One of the biggest issues players will face in V Rising is the inability to build a roof to protect their character from burning to ash when exposed to the sun. For those unsure of what the process entails, this guide will cover how to build a roof in V Rising.
Updated on June 25, 2024, by M. Salman Shahid: V Rising was previously in early access before its full release on May 8, 2024. Since the game has seen several changes, this guide has been updated to reflect said changes and provide gamers with additional tips for them to make use of while attempting to build a roof. For those looking to build a roof on a castle with more than one floor, the steps that must be followed in order to do so have also been outlined.
How To Build A Roof In V Rising
To build a roof in V Rising, players need to follow these simple steps:
- Ensure there is a room in the castle for the roof. The room needs to be designed using reinforced walls to unlock the option of building a roof.
- The room’s ground needs to have complete flooring.
- The room must have a reinforced entrance.
- Once the aforementioned requirements are met, the player will be given the option to add a roof to the room.
- Players do not need to add a roof manually, as the game takes care of this automatically.
The player may be unable to build a roof if the walls are not made using the right materials or are not connected. Players must also use materials like planks or stone bricks to make a room with a roof.

V Rising: How To Level Up Your Gear
Players who don’t know how to level up the gear in V Rising can find help here.
It is worth noting that the size of the roof will depend on the size of the room. For instance, if the room is 2x2, the roof will use the same space. However, expanding the room will extend the roof without incurring an additional cost.
How To Build A Roof For A Castle With Multiple Floors?
If you want to build a roof for the second floor, the process is the same, but there are a couple of important things to keep in mind:
- Since the roof from the previous floor will be generated automatically, you will still need to place a foundation.
- Select a floor of your choice and place it on any roof to turn it into a flat ceiling. Now, you can add walls, and a roof will generate automatically over any enclosed spaces.
- You can repeat the process if you want to add another floor.
How To Use Mist Braziers In V Rising?
![Mist Brazier Preview from V Rising](https://static0.gamerantimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/why-use-mist-braziers-instead-of-a-roof.jpg)
- You can find Mist Braziers under the Dominance tab in the Production menu.
- You will need 120 Stone to build one Mist Brazier, and you will need one Bone for every minute the Mist Brazier is active.
- You can save on Bones by turning off your Mist Braziers at night.
Tips For Building A Roof In V Rising
- Focus on building a roof in rooms housing the crafting stations first.
- The walls required to build a roof can be found under the Castle tab.
- Don’t build your castle in one go. Instead, take it slow and steady. Rather than building rooms for each type of production, build a large room for everything instead.
- When you are settled and get the hang of the game and its mechanics, you can add more rooms and add/remove walls and floors (for free).
How To Fix The Disappearing Roof Bug In V Rising
There has been a bug that causes the roof to disappear in V Rising. This bug can be problematic for players, as it will put character’s health at risk if they come into contant direct sunlight. While the problem has been addressed in a recent update, players may still face similar issues. Thankfully, the problem can be counteracted by replacing the walls with new ones.
Unfortunately, this is not a permanent solution, as players will be required to use this workaround daily. Later in the game, when players have expanded their castles, they will have a lot of walls to replace, thus making it a taxing exercise.
