How to Get Sludge-Filled Canister in V Rising
With the release of V Rising’s Secrets of Gloomrot expansion, the Sludge-filled Canister has become a craftable item. This has saved a lot of time for players, since the previous farming method involved making a separate container to collect the goop.
The recipe for the Sludge-filled Canister is currently dropped from Ziva the Engineer, a V Blood 60 boss located at Trancendum Machine Factory in Gloomrot South. Eliminating her also unlocks the Fabricator, the workstation required to make the canister. It requires the following items:
- Glass x4 (Loot from crates in Dunley Monastery or use 20 Quarts to craft in the Furnace)
- Mutant Grease x4 (Dropped from killing mutated creatures in Gloomrot)
- Iron Ingot x1 (Craft in the Furnace using Iron Ore)
Now, chuck them into the Fabricator to get a Sludge-filled Canister.
In the event of an excessive need for this particular resource or when you don’t have sufficient materials to craft it, there is a way to get some extras, and it calls for sending the Servants on Hunts. Do so by accessing the Throne and targeting the sections in the Gloomrot where the canister is available. This process might take a while, depending on the duration you have selected for the expedition. Nevertheless, it is a neat farming method for various in-game items.
How to Use Sludge-Filled Canister in V Rising
In V Rising, players will need the Sludge-filled Canister to craft Radium Alloy, by combining Sulphur and Tech Scrap in the Furnace. The alloy is a crucial recipe for forging Ancestral weapons and other items, like the Blood Merlot Amulet, Major Explosive Box, Obsidian, etc. The Ancestral weapons, in particular, become extremely relevant in the endgame as they roll with high stats and potent passives, which can help you out quite a bit against powerful bosses.
The canister is also used to spawn the Mutated Rat in the Vermin Nest structure. You can unlock this feature after defeating Angram the Purifier, one of the new bosses introduced with the Gloomrot expansion. Spawning these rodents ensures a steady supply of Mutant Grease, an important crafting component that would otherwise take several hours to farm.
