Needing reinforced planks is a symbol of progression in V Rising. The first area, the Farbane Woods, can be safely conquered without seeing a need for them. But soon afterward, technological upgrades will require reinforced planks. And they'll require a great deal of them.

There are a few ways to acquire them. At this stage of the game, V Rising has likely given gamers a couple from random drops. But random drops won't cut it for an entire playthrough. Gamers that want a veritable haul of reinforced planks should consider some strategic gathering techniques.

Creating Reinforced Planks

  • Combine planks and iron ingots at the sawmill.

Quantities vary from server to server, but on most of them, adding equal parks iron ingots and planks to the sawmill will yield reinforced planks. Planks are easy enough, simply add lumber from any tree to the sawmill and the vampire will get ahold of planks (as well as a clump of sawdust).

Farming iron expeditiously is less simple. The Haunted Iron Mine in the Dunley Farmlands is the best place to snatch up a lot of iron, just be wary of the V Blood bosses that patrol the mine and the surrounding areas. If this area is too high, look for smaller encampments that have iron ingots or raw iron as rewards.

After gathering up raw iron ore, toss it into the furnace to make iron ingots. Then put these into the sawmill with planks and let the contraption take care of the rest. After a few moments, players will have some reinforced planks to work with.

Raiding For Reinforced Planks

If gathering the materials is too dangerous, that's completely understandable. Sometimes, players just need a few planks to climb the tech tree and make the best weapons, then they can get to work making reinforced planks on their own.

Go ahead and raid for them in select areas like the Bastion of Dunley. The drops are still "random" but they are high enough that players can guarantee they won't walk away empty-handed from each excursion.

V Rising is available in early access on PC.
