Mutant Grease is one of those materials that players are going to need plenty of if they want to make progress through V Rising's mid-game tech tree. These aren't terribly hard to find, but when players start needing them by the hundreds, it's going to be an issue.

If you're already on your way to making Dawnthorn Armor in V Rising, then you're going to need a ton of Mutant Grease and other mid-tier materials. This guide will show you all the spots where you can find Mutant Grease as well as some tips on how to get more of them on the side.

Where To Find Mutant Grease in V Rising

Pools of Rebirth on V Rising's map

Mutant Grease is a common drop in the Gloomrot region — specifically, these drop from any of the mutated fauna roaming the southern part of the region. You may also find Mutant Grease by breaking containers or looting chests inside Trancendum camps, though you're more likely to find Tech Scrap there. Mutant Grease can be teleported via Waygate.

Gloomrot South is positively infested with mutants. You can easily get hundreds of Mutant Grease just by patrolling the region's main road and fighting all the mutants you see. If you're looking for a specific spot that you can quickly visit for a few globs of Mutant Grease, then the Pools of Rebirth near the center of the Gloomrot region is a good place to go. Apart from the mutants that spawn here, the sludge-filled barrels here have a chance of dropping 15 Mutant Grease.

Angram the Purifier in V Rising

More importantly, the Pools of Rebirth is where you can fight Angram the Purifier, one of V Rising's many bosses. Defeating him rewards you with the ability to summon Mutated Rats from the Vermin Nest.

You'll need to get a decent supply of Grave Dust and Sludge-Filled Canisters if you want your nest to constantly spew these mutant rats. Doing so will pretty much save you the trouble of having to run around Gloomrot just to find mutants to kill. Just make sure that your Vermin Nest is placed in an enclosed room, as the Mutated Rats (or anything that spawns out of it, for that matter) will quite literally infest your castle if left unattended.

Mutant Grease is needed to make Pristine Leather, one of the main components of the Dawnthorn Armor set. It's also used to spawn Spiderlings from Vermin Nests for Silkworm farming. Additionally, if you want to increase the blood quality of your V Rising prisoners, then you can feed them some Irradiated Gruel made from Mutant Grease and Plague Briers.
