Most of the time, harvesting resources in V Rising is a simple process; find the resources needed on the map, then go to that area. But players who try to repeat this process for any of the game's many gems will be disappointed. Gem gathering locations aren't easily found on the map.

Furthermore, there aren't any that spawn with regularity. Stone nodes have a chance to be gem nodes, but this isn't the most efficient farming method. Instead, keep reading to learn about all the best gem farming spots for crude gems, regular gems, and flawless gems in V Rising.

Updated by Abigail Angell on May 20, 2024: The recent full release of V Rising has led to us reviewing our guides to ensure they remain accurate and up to date. This guide was determined to be missing relevant information, as the gems system has been significantly expanded since this article's initial publish date. In addition, readability and formatting changes were made to bring it in line with Game ZXC's current standards.

How To Farm Crude Gems In V Rising

a set of crude gems in the player's inventory

Crude Gems can spawn in many places, but the highest spawn rates include any:

  • Stone Nodes (particularly those with crystal protrusions)
  • Loot Drops For Killing a Golem
  • Chests

Players looking to maximize their chances will want to stick to Farbane Woods, as this area has fewer high-level loot spawns to crowd out the crude gems they are farming. In addition, the enemies are more appropriately leveled for the early game (when players will first need these gems).

How To Spot Gem Stone Nodes

Look for stone nodes with prismatic shards sticking out of the base. This denotes a gem node. Grab a mace for expeditious farming and crack away at it until the node disappears. Collect the gems. Also, take out any Stone Golems wandering this area — they are guaranteed to drop at least one Crude Gem.

If luck just isn't working out after an initial pass, don't despair. Swat at the regular stone nodes, forcing the game to repopulate them after a while. The odds are good that these old nodes will be replenished with some gem nodes.

Best Farming Route For Crude Gems

V-Rising-Best-Place-To-Farm-Crude-Gems-1

The best farming route for Crude Gems is near the initial spawn teleporter on the Western Side of Farbane Woods. This region has the highest density of patrolling Stone Golems and gemstone nodes, as well as non-dangerous enemies, due to being so close to the starting area. It's safe, quick, and bound to have at least a handful of gem nodes every pass.

Additionally, this location is ideal for those who have learned to fast travel, due to the convenient Waygate. As long as you only pick up raw stone, wood, and gems, you should be able to teleport back. Otherwise, you'll need to have the free teleportation setting on.

How To Farm Regular Gems In V Rising

Several Regular Gems in the players inventory

Once players reach a high enough level, they will start unlocking recipes that require regular Quality Gems instead of crude ones. These gems can be farmed in much the same manner, dropping instead of Crude Gems occasionally based on your character's gear level. However, it is more effective to search them out in Dunley Farmlands, as the drop chance for them here is higher than Farbane Woods.

V Rising Another Good Spot To Farm Gems

Although this location is not as easy to get to as the one in Farbane Woods, there is another densely packed gem area in the northwestern Dunley Farmlands. Bedrock Pass is an area specifically for Gem Node Spawns and Golem patrols, and the nodes will list what gems drop from each node here. Those who have relocated their castle in the area will likely have done so solely to farm this location with regularity.

How To Farm Flawless Gems In V Rising

A Flawless Ruby and a Flawless Emerald on a Black Background

Flawless Gems are the natural next progression from regular quality gems. Players begin to unlock recipes requiring them around the Sanguine Weapon Tier. Their spawn locations are almost exclusively restricted to Gloomrot and Silverlight Hills, although a V Blood enemy may occasionally drop one on death. To farm them, seek out Flawless Gem Nodes in either of these regions.

It is more difficult to nail down a farming route for Flawless Gems, as the area where they spawn is pretty dangerous. However, the two Harpy Nests in Silver Light Hills tend to drop a good amount (both from the mobs there and the Mining Nodes). Instead of going yourself, you can even send your Vampire Servants to these locations for you.

How To Craft Flawless Gems In V Rising

Alternatively, instead of going hunting for these rare nodes in dangerous areas, players can craft them using lower-level gems. To do so, players will need to defeat Terah the Geomancer, and build the Gem Cutting Table she unlocks. The conversion for gems is 4 lower tier gems per 1 higher tier gem (i.e. 4 Crude Amethysts result in 1 regular Amethyst, and 4 Regular Amethysts result in 1 Flawless Amethyst).

If the Gem Cutter is enclosed in a Jeweler's Chamber, the ratio is instead 3 to 1.
