Nightmarshal wields two swords, one in each arm, and he is a very handy swordsman. The Double Sword attack is one of the basic attacks that he will unleash on the opponent.

Bat Attacks

Nightmarshal has the ability to conjure bat attacks at any point during the battle. These blood-colored bats dash at the opponent, causing quick DPS to anything that comes in their contact.

Whirlwind Blades

As if bats were not enough, Nightmarshal starts spinning in circles with his swords pointed outwards after reaching 75% HP, launching a swarm of blades at the player. Dodging these blades can be particularly hard when standing too close to Nightmarshal.

Teleportation

One of the favorite moves of Nightmarshal is to transform into a swarm of bats, teleport behind the opponent and then dash forward and stick the swords into their back. This sneaky and fascinating move can surprise players.

Vampires

At about 50% health, Nightmarshal rises up in the air and summons three vampires to take down his opponent. These vampires attack the player with their melee moves and need to be killed quickly; otherwise, Nightmarshal will keep respawning them.

Ultimate Attack

If the player manages to take down the vampire summon attack and brings down the boss's health bar to 20%, Nightmarshal finally unleashes his deadliest attack. In this attack, the screen becomes darker and stained with blood, thus reducing the vision of the player. Nightmarshal summons a whole bunch of bat swarms, assailing players from all sides.

Strategies

best abilities v rising
  • The first thing to bear in mind is that Nightmarshal likes to fight up close, and all his attacks involve causing close-range damage. Therefore, it is recommended to use a long-range weapon, such as a Crossbow, against this boss. However, Swords are also effective for melee combat, and Slashers have the extra benefit of reducing the damage of the attacks of Nightmarshal.
  • Whirlwind Blade Attack might be hard to dodge owing to its speed. This is where players need to rely on their travel ability to get them out of harm's way. Veil of Blood is a useful spell for this purpose.
  • Ward of the Damned allows players to summon skeletons to distract the enemy at hand. This spell can come in handy when fighting off the Bat Swarms and the Vampire Summons.
  • Mirror Strike and Chaos Volley are the best-attacking spells to cause serious damage to the boss. The best time to use these close-range attacks is when Nightmarshal is channeling the energy to summon his next attack. The smart way is to hit the boss in that window and retreat before he begins his attack.
  • Scholar's Blood is a great way to complement the weapons that players may adopt. Not only does it boost the strength of the spells and reduce the cooldown time, but it also speeds up the healing process.
