In V Rising, Spectral Dust is a crafting material made of a sparking powder that pulses with ethered energy that you use to craft magical objects and consumable items. However, obtaining it can be a bit of a grind, as there are only a few ways to get it, and some are harder than others.

Currently, there are three methods players can use to gather Spectral Dust when they need it the most. To make this process as straightforward as possible, here is a breakdown of each way to farm Spectral Dust in V Rising so you'll have more than enough for all your crafting needs.

Where to Find Banshees in V Rising

The Easiest Method

Finding Banshees at the Ancient and Cursed Villages in the Cursed Forest Region in V Rising

The easiest way to farm Spectral Dust in V Rising is by killing Banshees. You can find Banshees in Ancient and Cursed Villages in the Cursed Forest region. The Cursed Forest is an Act 2 region that requires that you have a Gear Level near 63. You'll find Banshees in two areas of this region, specifically the Ancient Village and the Cursed Village.

In both villages, approximately five banshees will spawn, each guaranteed to drop one Spectral Dust when defeated. They are level 62, so be cautious when fighting them, especially if other enemies accompany them. Clear the area of other foes like archers to make battling the banshees easier. Once in combat, stay mobile and avoid getting hit by their projectiles.

The locations of these villages have changed in V Rising 's 1.0 release compared to when the game was in Early Access. You can see the new locations in the picture above.

How to Unlock the Spectral Dust Recipe for the Advanced Grinder

Fighting Foulrot the Soultaker to unlock the Spectral Dust recipe for the Advanced Grinder in V Rising

The Advanced Method

You can craft V Rising's Spectral Dust using the Advanced Grinder. However, you must unlock the Spectral Dust recipe before you can do so. To unlock the recipe, you must kill a level 63 V Blood carrier called Foulrot the Soultaker. You will find him in the Ancient Village of the Cursed Forest in the Southeastern portion of the map (the exact location as the Banshees above).

Here are a few tips to make beating him easier. First, you'll want to ensure you are at gear level 60 before fighting Foulrot the SOultaker. Then, you'll want to clear out the village before fighting him so you don't accidentally pull many other enemies, making this fight more difficult. Aftershock, Ice Nova, and Purgatory are three spells that work greatly against him.

What Materials Are Required To Craft Spectral Dust In V Rising?

Crafting Spectral Dust using the Advanced Grinder in V Rising

To craft Spectral Dust using the Advanced Grinder, you'll need the following materials:

  • 1 x Scourgestone
  • 32 x Ghost Crystal

In addition to unlocking the Spectral Dust recipe for the Advanced Grinder, defeating Foulrot the Soultaker will grant you the ability to spawn Banshees in the Tomb. Spawning Banshees is a great way to safely farm Spectral Dust within your base, away from the dangers of the Cursed Forest.

What Items Provide Spectral Dust When Salvaged?

The Devourer Method

Salvaging Items to Get Spectral Dust in V Rising

Building the Devourer is a great way to recover resources from unneeded items and clear up space. There are two items you can salvage to obtain Spectral Dust:

  • Gain 1 Spectral Dust for an Epic Ancestral Weapon Shard
  • Gain 4 Spectral Dust by salvaging a Legendary Ancestral Weapon Shard

To build the Devourer, you'll need to defeat Lidia the Chaos Archer to unlock it. She is a level 30 V Blood Carrier that you'll fight during Act 1. She is highly aggressive, and you'll want to play more defensively. Avoid her attacks and slowly damage her with spells similar to Afershock. The fight will take a while, but you'll beat her with little problems by following these tips.
