In V Rising, Glass is a crafting material used to create objects like empty Glass bottles, pendants, and windows, and you will also need it to upgrade your Castle Heart to level 3. However, it is a rare material that can be hard to find if you don't know where to look. This is especially true since the Dunley Monastery has not been a viable location to farm glass and quartz since the 1.0 release.
All the Quartz nodes behind the Monastery have been replaced with stone. You will also not receive any Glass for completing missions there. While it is a bummer that this location was changed, there is a new location that will meet all your Glass needs. Here's how to farm Glass in V Rising for all your crafting needs.
Where to Farm Glass in V Rising
The newest location in V Rising's 1.0 release for farming Glass is Quartz Quarry, located in the Dunley Farmlands region and shown on the map above. You'll find lots of ranged and melee militia enemies around level 37. In addition, you see the occasional bomber at level 47, which can be extremely tough depending on your gear level.
You'll want to stay mobile against the bombers as they will throw bombs with various AOE sizes that will cause massive damage and knock you back. While the militia enemies aren't formidable by themselves, they will overwhelm you if you get hit by bomber attacks.
The nice thing about Quartz Quarry is that it is now in a single location where you can farm Glass from containers, Quartz from nodes, and the Glass recipe from the V Blood Carrier all in one location. Keep your inventory as empty as possible to bring as much Quartz back to your base as possible. Remember that you cannot teleport with Glass or Quartz in V Rising, so you must run it back to your base.

How to Make Glass in V Rising
As you farm Glass from the Quartz Quarry, you'll also accumulate a substantial amount of Quartz. In V Rising, Glass is crafted using the Furnace; however, before you can do this, you need to unlock the Glass recipe, which you can achieve by defeating a V Blood Carrier known as Grethel the Glassblower. Conveniently, you can find her in the Quartz Quarry, so if you're already farming Quartz, you're in the right place to unlock the Glass recipe.
Defeating Grethel the Glassblower
Grethel is Level 47, so make sure your gear is 45 or higher before attempting to fight her. First, clear the area of all enemies before initiating the fight so you don't get surprised when fighting her. Then, when you are ready, you can use a ranged weapon to keep your distance from her while slowly damaging her. Throw spells at her to help with chunking her health down even further. Fighting Grethel in V Rising is relatively easy if you keep your distance.
