V Rising: Best Axes, Ranked

There are multiple tiers of axe weapons in V Rising, and the player will need to upgrade them as they go. Here's how they rank up.

Longbows have a strange niche in V Rising. They are lower-range weapons than crossbows, but longer-range weapons than pistols. They also sit somewhere in the middle when it comes to their raw damage. This makes them difficult to justify as a weapon choice for many players. Especially as much of the combat is more suited to melee. However, for those who are set on making the Longbow their main weapon, these are the best options available in V Rising.

7 Copper Longbow

Basic Starter Bow

Copper Longbow In V Rising

Stats:

  • Level: 9
  • Power: 8.5
  • Durability: 1085

Crafting requirements:

  • Copper Ingot: 16
  • Plank: 12

A V Rising player needs to reach Level 9 before they can use Longbows. When they do, they can unlock and craft the Copper Longbow blueprint by killing Lidia the Chaos Archer. She can be found by heading to Farbane Woods and then searching the roadway between the Bandit Logging Camp and Bandit Copper Mine, as this is her patrol route.

V Rising: Best Swords, Ranked

There is a wide range of swords in V Rising, and the player will generally progress through them as they level up.

The crafting requirements for the Copper Longbow are pretty low, and this means that most players should be able to craft this first Longbow as soon as they have looted the blueprint from Lidia the Chaos Archer, making it the ideal early-game Longbow.

6 Merciless Copper Longbow

A Slight Upgrade

Merciless Copper Longbow In V Rising

Stats:

  • Level: 12
  • Power: 10.9
  • Durability: 1292

Crafting requirements:

  • Copper Longbow: 1
  • Crude Amethyst: 2
  • Whetstone: 12
  • Leather: 4

The Merciless Copper Longbow offers a slight upgrade over the standard Copper Longbow. However, the player will need to unlock the blueprint first by locating the Shady Book dealer and purchasing it for a cost of 40 copper coins.

Arguably, it isn’t worth crafting this bow in V Rising. The difference in stats from the Copper Longbow is not all that significant, the crafting cost is quite high, and the Merciless Copper Longbow is not upgradeable, and will simply be discarded once the player wants to upgrade to the Iron Longbow. All in all, there's very little reason to craft the Merciless Copper Longbow.

5 Iron Longbow

The First Rare Bow

Iron Longbow In V Rising

Stats:

  • Level: 15
  • Power: 13.8
  • Durability: 1554

Crafting requirements:

For V Rising players who skipped the Merciless Copper Longbow, the Iron Longbow offers a great upgrade over the basic Copper Longbow. The blueprint should be unlocked automatically once the player is a high enough level and has access to the right resources.

The crafting requirements for the Iron Longbow are relatively low, and most players should be able to farm the Iron needed to craft it by the time they hit Level 15 or 16, although Iron will become more common a little further into the game, so it might be easiest to wait a while to craft this bow. Overall, this a very worthwhile Longbow and a strong upgrade on the Copper Longbow.

4 Merciless Iron Longbow

Possibly Not Worth Crafting

Merciless Iron Longbow In V Rising

Stats:

  • Level: 18
  • Power: 17.3
  • Durability: 1873

Crafting requirements:

The Merciless Iron Longbow suffers from the same problem that the Merciless Copper Bow does, just more so. Considering the crafting cost of this bow, and the fact it offers stats barely higher than the Iron Longbow, it may be worth skipping. Especially when considering that it is not used as a crafting component for further bow upgrades.

V Rising: Every Weapon, Ranked

Although players will have a variety of preferences regarding the weaponry they use, some styles have risen to the top and others are being abandoned.

V Rising players who do want to craft the Merciless Iron Longbow will need to acquire the blueprint from the Rural Book Merchant, and it costs 64 silver coins to purchase. Between the cost of the blueprint and the cost of crafting the Longbow, it's probably best to skip past this weapon.

3 Dark Silver Longbow

The First Epic Bow

Dark Silver Longbow In V Rising

Stats:

  • Level: 24
  • Power: 24.3
  • Durability: 2545

Crafting requirements:

The Dark Silver Longbow blueprint is unlocked at Level 24, once the player has access to the various crating materials required. It offers a significant upgrade over previous bows in V Rising, especially if the player skipped the Merciless Iron Longbow.

The crafting requirements for the Dark Silver Longbow might be a bit high at the stage of the game when the blueprint is unlocked. The player will either have to spend some time farming resources, or continue with the game a little further until the needed resources become more common.

2 Sanguine Longbow

A Worthy Upgrade

Sanguine Longbow In V Rising

Stats:

  • Level: 24
  • Power: 29.3
  • Durability: 3037

Crafting requirements:

  • Dark Silver Longbow: 1
  • Flawless Amethyst: 1
  • Primal Blood Essence: 1
  • Gold Ingot: 12

The Sanguine Longbow will take a V Rising player all the way to Level 30 before they can craft it. The crafting recipe for this bow can be purchased at the Treasure Hunter Trade Post, and costs 260 Goldsun coins. It is a significant upgrade over the Dark Silver Longbow, which is used as a component in crafting this weapon.

6 Best Armor Sets In V Rising, Ranked

There are plenty of armor sets to help players stay alive in V Rising, but these are the best ones for vampires to equip.

The only real downside of the Sanguine Longbow is that the crafting requirements might be tricky to meet; especially the Flawless Amethyst. Unless the player has been lucky enough to loot one by the time they unlock the recipe for the Sanguine Longbow, they will need to find a suitable location to farm one, which is not easy.

1 Oaksong

End-Game Legendary Bow

Oaksong In V Rising

Stats:

  • Level: 30
  • Power: 33.7
  • +15% Physical Critical Strike Chance
  • +10% Weapon Skill Cooldown Recovery Rate
  • +5% Movement Speed
  • Durability: 3800

Crafting requirements:

  • Sanguine Longbow: 1
  • Oaksong Shard: 1
  • Onyx Tear: 4

The Oaksong is a legendary end-game bow in V Rising. Players will use the Sanguine Longbow as the basis for crafting this upgrade. With its additional stats, including movement speed, skill cooldown, and critical chance buffs, it is a significant upgrade over any other bow in the game.

However, the player is going to need to be lucky enough to loot the right legendary shard from a Tier 2 Rift Incursion before they can craft Oaksong. The rest of the materials should be pretty straightforward to farm at Level 30, and players will be wielding Oaksong in no time.
