Jujutsu Kaisen is well into its second season and has fans blown away by bringing the Shibuya Incident to life. The animators at Mappa have continuously outdone themselves with each episode. Created by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen has risen to the top of the charts and become one of the most successful manga of the decade. The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark and chaotic place filled with powerful monsters who are combated by equally powerful individuals called Jujutsu Sorcerers.
The characters that make up the monsters and sorcerers of Jujutsu Kaisen are capable of great and destructive things; however, even with all this power, some can still be vulnerable to karma or just all-around bad luck. Not every character has a clear path ahead of them or can hope to come out of the other side of conflict unscathed like Satoru Gojo. Here are some of the most unlucky characters in Jujutsu Kaisen.
8 Kasumi Miwa
Born Average
Kasumi Miwa is an interesting character, to say the least. She is among the Kyoto class of jujutsu sorcerers and wears a bright smile and chipper attitude whenever she is present.
Best School Battle Anime, Ranked
The best school battle anime centers around students training to beat each other or a common enemy through combat.
However, Miwa constantly refers to herself as "Useless Miwa"; This moniker is made clear as compared to others in her class and even the likes of Satoru Gojo, Miwa is unremarkable in the world of jujutsu sorcerers, which is a truly unlucky fate when a sorcerers' life is constantly put on the line.
7 Takuma Ino
Came Face To Face With Toji Fushiguro
Takuma is a kind, conscientious person who qualifies as a grade-two jujutsu sorcerer. Takuma's skill and personality earned him the respect and admiration of his peers as someone who always goes the extra mile to do the right thing and set an example for the next in line. Takuma has a focused attitude when on the job and has the skills to take care of himself. Unfortunately for Takuma, during the Shibuya incident, he had the bad luck engaging the sorcerer slayer, Toji Fushiguro, in battle while Itadori and Megumi were in his care.
6 Junpei Yashino
Betrayed By The Cursed Spirit Mahito
Junpei was one of the most significant anime betrayals of recent years since Reiner and Bertholdt revealed themselves to be titans. At first, Junpei Yashino's reveal seemed to be a budding curse user who was headed down a destructive path. With a bright personality made dim by constant bullying, Junpei is manipulated by the cursed spirit Mahito. This placed Junpei at odds with Itadori, whom had taken a liking to him. Itadori furiously tried to save Junpei from his own actions, but it was all for naught, as Mahito permanently changed Junpei into a transfigured human.
5 Kokichi Muta
Born With A Cursed Body, Betrayed By The Cursed Spirit Mahito
Kokichi was commonly known as Mechamaru among his fellow jujutsu sorcerers as he piloted mechanized robots powered and controlled by his cursed energy manipulation. Kokichi had the unfortunate origin of being born with a compromised body that left him bedridden but possessing an overwhelming amount of cursed energy. In a last-ditch effort to obtain a new body, Kokichi made a binding vow with the cursed spirit Mahito, which led to his early demise the moment his body was repaired.
4 Riko Amanai
Chosen As The Plasma Star Vessel, Killed By Toji Fushiguro At Age Fourteen.
Riko Amanai was an average high school girl with her whole life ahead of her until she was chosen as the star plasma vessel for Lord Tengen. Riko was bright and cheery and faced her short future head-on, having an accepting attitude about her being offered to Lord Tengen. However, deep down, Riko wanted to continue to enjoy her life to the fullest with her friends. When Geto revealed that he and Satoru would allow her a chance at freedom, she was killed by Toji Fushiguro.
3 Haruta Shigema
Wasted All Charges Of His Cursed Ability.
Haruta is one of several curse users who joined with Geto and his band of cursed spirits to seal Satoru Gojo during the Shibuya Incident. Haruta comes off as a carefree and sadistic individual who was tasked with eliminating Jujutsu managers and did so with no remorse.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Prison Realm, Explained
The Prison Realm is the cursed tool that allowed the Shibuya Incident to take place. Here's a breakdown of what it is and how it works.
However, while torturing Kugisaki and Nitta, Haruta lets his guard down and is completely destroyed by Kento Nanami. However, Haruta's cursed ability granted him a second chance at life, which led him to attempt to kill Megumi Fushiguro. This inadvertently put him in the path of Sukuna.
2 Atsuya Kusakabe
Present During Sukuna's Revival
Atsuya is a grade-one jujutsu sorcerer who was dispatched to Shibuya during the sealing of Satoru Gojo. However, during his time in Shibuya, Atsuya was partnered with Panda and proceeded to diligently avoid the trouble areas, especially the areas that would lead to conflict and put his life at risk.
Jujutsu Kaisen: 7 Strongest Shikigami Users
These characters are the very best at using Shikigami in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Everything was going great for Atsuya as he began killing time until the fighting was all over. Unfortunately, he encountered a group of curse users that were more about action rather than words. To make matters worse, Atsuya encountered the revived Sukuna and found himself in a dire situation as Sukuna and Jogo fought it out.
1 Jogo
Faught Satoru Gojo And Sukuna
Jogo is one of the cursed spirits featured early on in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. While he is revered as a powerful spirit, it seems Jogo can't actually catch a break. In his first appearance, Jogo faces off against Satoru Gojo and is made quick work of. When it is revealed that he has teamed up with Geto to seal Satoru Gojo, Jogo admits to an ulterior motive and wants to resurrect Sukuna and usher in the age of curses. Unfortunately, Sukuna's personality lures Jogo into a fight, and for a second time, he is completely overwhelmed.
