If there’s one thing Undertale has become famous for aside from its memorable characters, subversive RPG gameplay, and contributions to meme culture, it’s the soundtrack. Few video game soundtracks of this generation have left as big an impression as the one that gave fans “Megalovania,” and soon there will be a whole new way to experience it, since one fan is making a ska album out of Toby Fox’s music.

Jeremy Hunter of the YouTube channel Ska Tune Network has made a name for themselves in recent years by reimagining popular songs with the upbeat brass and bouncy guitar licks of third-wave ska. These include songs that have appeared in the soundtracks for games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Now they’ve turned their attention to Undertale with their next project, a compilation of song covers called Despite Everything, It’s Still You.

The album will feature ten ska-flavored takes on the game’s most memorable tracks. The first of these, “Determination,” was released earlier today, and features Hunter along with Max Boiko of the VGM Collective on the trumpet and Elwood Bond on drums. It should give fans of Undertale a good idea of what to expect from the rest of Ska Tune Network’s covers.

In addition to the first track, the cover art for the album was also released.

Undertale has inspired loads of fan content like remixes of its soundtrack, and its sequel, Deltarune will likely inspire more as new content is released for it. It’s been a while since the game’s first part was released, but last month Toby Fox gave a status update on Deltarune Chapter 2, saying that he expects to have it finished by the end of the year.

Undertale is available for PC, PS4, and Switch.
