With only a few months left until the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company have been sharing plenty of details about Pokemon's ninth generation titles. Previous trailers have already shown off plenty of new characters, new mechanics, and several new Pokemon joining the game including legendary Pokemon Koraidon and Miraidon. This month's Pokemon Presents broadcast gave fans an in-depth look at the Paldea region as well as introducing the Pokemon franchise's newest mechanic, the Terastal phenomenon.

The Terastal phenomenon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet features crystallized Pokemon with the new mechanic powering up a Pokemon's moves of a specific type, or even allowing Pokemon to gain a new type in battle. The trailer also showed off raid dens similar to Sword and Shield's Max Raids where players can encounter rare types of Terastal Pokemon. Now, Pokemon is once again welcoming a familiar face as Undertale creator Toby Fox reveals his involvement with the soundtrack.

Toby Fox recently revealed through his personal Twitter account that his music would once again be featured in a main-series Pokemon game. Fox revealed that he was responsible for composing the music for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Terastal Raids. Fox would go on to remark on his interactions with game director Shigeru Ohmori when first discussing the soundtrack. Ohmori had apparently given Toby Fox an image of a Lucario with a gigantic flower on its head as inspiration for music surrounding the new mechanic.

Toby Fox's confirmed involvement would not be the first time the Undertale creator has created music for a main-series Pokemon game, or even with Scarlet and Violet. Fox had confirmed in June that he had composed Scarlet and Violet's field music as well as multiple other tracks within the new Pokemon generation. Toby Fox also worked with The Pokemon Company and Game Freak during the franchise's eighth generation, composing music for Pokemon Sword and Shield's Battle Tower.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have seen plenty of major reveals since their announcement earlier this year. The newest Pokemon games were confirmed to be the first fully open-world main-series Pokemon games with players not restricted to a set path by the game's story. The August broadcast also revealed Pokemon's new Terastal Raids feature a departure from Pokemon's traditional combat formula, mixing turn-based and real-time combat. Between new characters, new creatures, and a vast region to explore, fans have plenty to look forward to when Scarlet and Violet launch later this year.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release on November 18th for the Nintendo Switch.
