The Undertaker has had a tremendous wrestling career that spans over 30 years. On April 1, the night before WrestleMania 38’s two-night event, The Undertaker will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
This year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place in the Undertaker's home state of Texas. The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place in Dallas following the broadcast of SmackDown that will air that evening. Following SmackDown’s broadcast, viewers will have to switch over to Peacock to watch the live ceremony.
The Undertaker will headline the 2022 Hall of Fame class. After years of making surprise returns to the ring for the WrestleMania season, Undertaker retired in 2020. In his final match, Undertaker took on AJ Styles in a Boneyard match at WrestleMania 36. Undertaker would pick up his 25th WrestleMania win after burying Styles in a grave. Today, the Undertaker still holds the record for the most WrestleMania wins with an impressive record of 25-2.
In addition to his impressive WrestleMania record, Undertaker is a 4 time WWE Champion, a 3 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, a 6 time WWF World Tag Team Champion, A WCW Tag Team Champion, and a WWF Hardcore Champion. Of his 7 Tag Team Championship reigns, Undertaker served as champion with his on-screen half-brother, Kane, who were often known as The Brothers of Destruction. Undertaker is also a Royal Rumble winner after he eliminated Shawn Michaels at the 2007 pay-per-view. He made history as the first person to enter at No. 30 and win the Royal Rumble match.
Of his long list of accomplishments, one of Undertaker's most unforgettable matches took place at WrestleMania 25 against Shawn Michaels in Houston. Undertaker would extend his win streak to 17-0 after defeating Michaels in a 30-minute match. The two would face each other again at WrestleMania 26, where Michaels would put his career on the line. Undertaker would add another win to his record, stretching it to 18-0. This streak would continue to grow until 2014 in New Orleans when Brock Lesnar would defeat the Undertaker at WrestleMania 30. Undertaker would pick up his second WrestleMania loss in 2017 against Roman Reigns.
As a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, Undertaker will join his on-screen half-brother Kane, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year, and Paul Bearer, his long-term manager who was inducted in 2014. The rest of the 2022 WWE Hall of Fame class has not been revealed, though that will be expected to change in the coming weeks. As for the first official entrant for the 2022 class, there is no doubt that the Undertaker has earned his place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
